Jesus I could be screwed.

My god I have plenty of experience working with south Asians and have traveled through India. But for the life of me I couldn’t understand this woman. I finally had to have her spell ‘date of birth’ because repeating it 6 times didn’t work.

35m on hold just to get a person. She put me on hold 5 minutes to ‘investigate’. I told her this won’t be resolved by looking at a computer. It will be resolved by someone walking around the garage at Hartfield.
I put the odds of me needing to fly down there myself and find the damn thing at 25%.

@jon-nyc said in Jesus I could be screwed.:
And now every minute I get to hear a grating grammatical error.
It’s the order IN WHICH it was received. You fucking cunt.
I tend to be so annoyed at how slowly people speak in those sorts of recordings, that I think I would welcome some ungrammatical word removal.

I hope at least you got this banger of a "on hold" music track:

Fortunately it was a Mitsubishi with Vermont plates. How many of those could there be in the Avis garage in Atlanta? It’s also conceivable I could get a friend to walk through the garage and find it.
Though, to Horace’s point, they should have a procedure for this. With millions of rentals per year this has to happen now and then.

I remember when we were building the systems for Nation/Alamo, they wanted to have an automated return system with a device in the car that we could detect when the vehicle was returned.
So the car would be checked-in just by driving onto the lot.
When I first heard about it I said the renter could just throw the device over the fence and then keep the car. I forget whether they ever implemented that.

Any update?

The woman from Bangalore gave me an investigation ID number and said to check back in a week.

The screenshot of the metadata is a good idea.

I can prove I was at the airport, as I took my flight. But they are the ones who can prove I returned it with video and the presence of the car in the garage.
It's pretty much impossible to get a car out of that garage without showing papers to the attendant. And they did check to see if there was an activity on the vehicle, and there wasn't.
