D3 got a labradoodle/bichon mix from a shelter. Little shedding, but needs grooming.

He is paper trained as well as going outside,

      Schnauzer would be cool, @Jolly

My wife grew up with a lab, so I'd imagine that's what we'd get. Sheds, I know... but friendly as hell

My SIL has a pug and I have to admit as ugly as they initially art.... man if they aren't a great friend in the house. They're like the friendliness of a dog, but the house behavior of a cat. Most of the time.

I had a 14-pound sheltie that would have torn up any dog twice her size.

            Labs?

Extremely smart. Lot of working gun dogs down here.

I've been told in some circles, cat hair is considered a condiment.

Jack Russell’s are great fun and weigh less than 20, unless they’re crossed with a polar bear

                    I was only joking

U want a working gun dog? Get what we have. A vizsla. No shed. No wet dog smell. Smart as any dog I’ve ever had. And loving beyond words. (Called Velcro dogs because they have no understanding of personal space. They stick with u everywhere u go) and if like jolly, u may be interested in an hunting companion, well that’s what they are bred for.
Downside-endless and I mean endless energy levels.
