I’m becoming more and more convinced that Fetterman died in the hospital when he was taken in for depression last year, and they’re paying my buddy Rob to take over as John. The money is probably good enough to have him tow the line on some stuff, but he’s slowly shifting his positions…

Here's one for George or Bach (or maybe one of George's daughters), but after a stroke such as Fetterman's, I know some personality things can happen. But can this much of a political change occur? This guy is smart enough to read the political landscape pretty well right now.

Stroke? Forget the stroke. He’s been changed since he went to Walter Reed for depression. Smarter, able to speak coherently, personality, everything.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he was denied a prime speaking spot and would rather not show up than be just another senator.

Could be. What does that say about the current state of the party?

That not every junior senator gets a prime speaking spot regardless of how ambitious they are?

I would say that independent of the convention situation, the democratic party has on some level an anti-semitism problem.

I don't know if it's so much anti-semitism as antagonism toward Israeli conservative policy. But of course it will be interpreted as anti-semitism because that's how it goes. if you don't care for BLM's goals you're a racist.

                                Beg to differ.

I think many American have a shared vision of equality. They don't have a shared version of equity.

Secondly, haven't seen many anti-BLM Americans rioting in the streets or chasing black students off of college campuses.

I think the latter is the impetus, but whenever you take it out on Jewish citizens, not on policymakers, well that's obviously crossing into the former.

I think the multi-bucket idea works for me too. One COULD hate Jews, but I don't think that label is appropriate for all those who oppose current Israeli policy.

Disclaimer - I am not one of them. In ANY time before the late 20th century Gaza simply would have been wiped off the face of the earth. I think Israel has prosecuted this war quite ethically against cowards who hide behind women and children then claim genocide. They are a scourge to be eradicated. But the civilian deaths are purely the fault of Hamas. We have used kid gloves for far too long to avoid the pearl clutching.

I think the multi-bucket idea works for me too. One COULD hate Jews, but I don't think that label is appropriate for all those who oppose current Israeli policy.

                                      Yeah, fully agree.

Disclaimer - I am not one of them. In ANY century before the 20th Gaza simply would have been wiped off the face of the earth. I think Israel has prosecuted this war quite ethically against cowards who hide behind women and children then claim genocide. They are a scourge to be eradicated. But the civilian deaths are purely the fault of Hamas.

Yeah. I think it's possible Israel has gotten a few things wrong over the past year, but they were attacked. You're not going to have a morally perfect response to that.

We have used kid gloves for far too long to avoid the pearl clutching.

Was that mixed metaphor deliberate? Because it kinda works.

                                        @Aqua-Letifer yeah, it was intentional.
