Son (24) of my high school buddy is asking where he can get an inexpensive suit in the 100-200 range.

    Anyone have ideas?

They’ll end up, after a lot of drama, with the same formula they use every time they have a trifecta: take away health care and food assistance from low income families and use the money to fund tax cuts for their donors.

Joseph Banks has some options in that price range. What's the occasion? That would tell me more about whether he is in a realistic price range.

When I needed one in a hurry for a funeral I just went to Kohl's. It did the job. I wasn't going to make the front page of any magazines, but I also wasn't going to get singled out for being the disrespectful scruffy bastard. If he's going to wear it regularly it would be worth spending more IMHO.

                  I go to Men's Wearhouse.

Always chuckle when I go there because it sounds exactly like "warehouse" but lol they spell it like "wear" as in wearing clothes, it's really clever.

If there’s an outlet mall near you stores like Calvin Klein can have decent deals.

If your son is relatively normal shaped (not too tall, not too skinny, not too fat relative to the norm) - suits off the rack will look just fine.

Another possibility, if not buying for the long haul...The Stafford line from Penny's used to be the best inexpensive suit. Notice I said used to be. Haven't bought one in over ten years.

Great. I don’t know if he has an occasion in mind I suspect he just wants to have an all-purpose suit for an interview, wedding, or funeral.

Try Macy’s (or establishments like it). My observation has been that, if one opts for polyester (or blends thereof) rather than wool, one stands a good chance of getting a suit economically.

Yeap, just saw @LuFins-Dad’s reply above, Kohl’s will work too.

I agree. Someone once told me something like: A good thrift store suit costing USD$100 with $100 of alterations is better than a USD$200 suit direct from off the rack.

Yes, it's an entertaining business model. My son worked for them for a while unloading the trucks, so got even more off the "reduced" items. I have to say those guys work bloody hard for not that much money.
