        Maybe he spent the day in Queens. Is that where the show was set?

          Like always my favourite confection. A bag of Dutch black liquorice hearts.

            We did the sensible thing, and went for dinner on 2/15.

            The place was absolutely full of couples of a certain age who are old enough to have gained a bit of common sense 😆

              Mrs. George lost some weight for Valentine's day.

              She had a cholecystectomy.

                  Yeah, doing OK. Gallbladder surgery has been transformed in the last 30 years. It used to be one of the most aggressive, painful, debilitating operations. God help you if you were sick or elderly.

                  Laparoscopy changed all that. Surgery complete at 11:45. Home at 5:30.

                        Governor’s Island. With great views of lower manhattan.

                        We had a spa day.

                        IMG_3282.jpeg

                        Besides the normal spa stuff, they had these fabulous heated pools. The were fantastic, until you had to get out into the 30F/-1C air to dry off.

                              @George-K

                              I hope Mrs. George has speedy and full recovery.

                              Have had a couple of friends undergo the surgery. First one was back in about 1980. Brutal. I recall visiting her in the hospital - - - there were tubes everywhere and she (25 years old) looked like death warmed over. I think the overall recovery was 8 weeks. Then in the early 90s another friend had it done. Seems to me he was pretty much ambulatory within a day or two and back to work (restricted duty mind you) ten days to two weeks. I know we went on a half day trail ride around a month after the surgery.

                              Elbows up!

                                @Renauda One of my partners had his gallbladder taken out on a Friday afternoon.

                                He was back to work on Monday.
