Karla surprised me with a bottle of moderately priced rye. It’s a little sweet for my taste and not enough heat and spice, but I am pleased with the sentiment…

Oh, she did get me a truly hilarious card. I gave her one from last year that I didn’t give her because she felt so bad about not getting me one.

A card, and cards from the kids. Really enjoyed their efforts. We do not exchange presents on Valentine’s Day or our anniversary (of course I still give a card and flowers for those days). Makes it simple for us, especially as we weather the hurricane years of 3 toddlers.

Bupkis here as well. At our stage of marriage, a simple hand hold and "I love you," is all that's needed.

We did the sensible thing, and went for dinner on 2/15.

The place was absolutely full of couples of a certain age who are old enough to have gained a bit of common sense 😆

Mrs. George lost some weight for Valentine's day.

                            She had a cholecystectomy.

Governor’s Island. With great views of lower manhattan.

                                      We had a spa day.

Besides the normal spa stuff, they had these fabulous heated pools. The were fantastic, until you had to get out into the 30F/-1C air to dry off.
