It’s not his mask wearing per se that’s important. It’s the sizeable portion of his base that is hostile to the idea. That group could have been much smaller than it is today had he adopted the right attitude early and consistently.

Which is what he has said all along. Honestly, if you are not smart enough to discern that the guy and those around him are frequently tested and safe and that you do not have that level of protection I don’t know what to tell you.

But he didn't! Now he needs to change their minds! He needs to provide informed leadership! What his base believes isn't carved in stone.

True but more non mask wearers are likely anti Trump and are more responsible for the spread.

@Mik What does "frequently tested and safe" mean? And if you believe everything coming out of the White House just because it's what you want to hear, then I don't know what to tell you.

Then I said: But he didn't! Now he needs to change their minds! He needs to provide informed leadership!
I forgot to add: I think he cannot do that, because that would require admitting he was wrong, and that is the very thing he cannot do, because in his mind that woujld be leaving himself open to blame. He can't go forward, but he can't go back because events are overrunning him. He's stuck.

Right there... The majority of the folks I am seeing not wearing masks are definitely not Trump supporters.

When one of your biggest concerns is whether or not Trump wears a mask, it's time to face the fact that you (the collective "you") need to leave the decision making to those who have not yet lost their minds.

When you are unable to discern that the mask wearing issue is symptomatic of a much bigger problem, it's time to face the fact that you need to leave the decision making to those who have the necessary scope.

Mask wearing or not mask wearing is not indicative of a damned thing.

It's poor leadership, Larry.

No it's not. It's another example of why we have to put warning labels on a bottle of water.

"Poor leadership".....
The majority of people don't even know what leadership is when they see it.
"Poor leadership" my ass.

Well, sure. It's just math.
The thousands upon thousands of Trump supporters protesting and burning every night, if they would all wear masks, it would certainly cut the transmission of the virus. Most people are at least partially locking themselves down to help flatten a curve somewhere. Damn republicans are out marching every day and every night. There are always a certain small percentage that do wear masks. Not only do these republican protesters protect themselves from the virus, it helps filter the smoke, and cuts odor from people that seem to bathe only during certain cycles of the moon.
Like I said, it's just math.

Excuse me. You might as well go ahead and say that Trump supporters are too stupid to wear a mask unless Trump shows us how. That's the Left's firm view, and I am highly offended by it. Not only is it a bare assed lie, it's the exact opposite of the truth. Even a complete moron can see it's the LEFT out protesting, looting, etc.
You Lefties need to pull your heads out of your asses. Trump supporters do not need to be shown how to act, or how to live our lives. Every indication is that it is your side of the aisle with diminished mental capacity.
And don't give me this shit about how I misunderstood you. Its a shared arrogance from your side of the aisle, and its offensive.
