“If you believe in his policies, what he’s advertising as his policies, he’s the last person who could actually execute them and achieve them,” Barr said of Trump at an event in Cleveland. “He does not have the discipline.”
When pressed further, Barr claimed his former boss doesn’t have “the ability for strategic thinking” or “setting priorities.”
“It is a horror show when he’s left to his own devices,” Barr said. “And so, you may want his policies, but Trump will not deliver Trump policies.”
“He will deliver chaos and, if anything, lead to a backlash that will set his policies much further back than they otherwise would be,” he added.

“Who did I want determining the direction of the Supreme Court for years to come: Trump or Hillary Clinton? The question was not close. On this basis alone, I would crawl over broken glass to the polls to vote for Trump.
Once Trump won the nomination, the media, after fawning over him during the primaries, suddenly discovered his character flaws, which they now suggested made him unfit for office. I did not know enough about him to make firm judgments about all aspects of his character, but I did not see anything at the time I felt disqualifying. The country should aspire to elect leaders of high moral character, to be sure. But the significance of a candidate’s moral strengths and weaknesses has to be judged in relation to all the other attributes that person would bring to the office in the context of the time in which he’s running—together with his policy views and leadership skills. In our age, the electorate seems to put less stock in character, as I learned sadly when it replaced George H. W. Bush with Bill Clinton. Many of our past leaders, including some idolized by the Left even today, are known to have had deep moral failings. Trump certainly had his share of them.
One important point, though, was that those failings were not as hidden as they usually are in political leaders. In Trump’s case, the failings were close to the surface—mostly on full display. Trump was not as much two-faced as full-on frontal: what you saw is pretty much what you got. Many people have attributed his flaws to a deep narcissism. This would not surprise me—it is a common malady in our age, especially among celebrities, political and otherwise.”

Trump's views on Ukraine are very disappointing, but not exactly surprising. I guess he's stopped trying to be like Churchill and decided to emulate his predecessors instead.

Trump's views on Ukraine are very disappointing, but not exactly surprising. I guess he's stopped trying to be like Churchill and decided to emulate his predecessors instead.
But Trump says he knows both Zelensky and Putin.

Appears that those in charge may be secretly Democrats, and know that the best chance for the Democrats to win the president in 2024 is to have Pres. Trump be the nominee.

“The Republicans lost big on Debt Ceiling, got NOTHING, and now are worried that they will be BLAMED for the Budget Shutdown. Wrong!!! Whoever is President will be blamed,” Trump wrote, adding: “UNLESS YOU GET EVERYTHING, SHUT IT DOWN! Close the Border, stop the Weaponization of ‘Justice,’ and End Election Interference.”
And Trump keeps insulting the Senate Republican leader:
“It’s time Republicans learned how to fight!” Trump wrote. “Are you listening Mitch McConnell, the weakest, dumbest, and most conflicted 'Leader' in U.S. Senate history?”

@Axtremus Has that hurt President Trump previously? He insults people, insults their wives, parents, belittle them, belittle their work, etc etc, and yet most of the Republicans dont have the spine to stand up to him.

Former House Speaker Paul Ryan said Tuesday that Republicans will lose the presidential election if Donald Trump is the nominee
Ryan said in the small number of swing states, including Wisconsin, the election will come down to winning over suburban voters.
“Do you think those suburban voters like Donald Trump more since Jan. 6?" Ryan said. "I mean, good grief. They didn’t vote for him this last time, they’re not going to vote for him again.”Kind of my thinking. The middle voters are the ones that are going to decide the election. They didn't vote for President Trump last time, and I don't think he has done anything to change their mind so far.

Makes sense and is pretty obvious.
“This is a political-leaning conference right now, not a policy-leaning conference,” Ryan told me. Which makes sense, he added, because “our party is a populist-leaning party right now, not a policy-leaning party.”
For sure, President Trump is a populist and is very good about reading the people and goes which way the wind is blowing.

“His verbal skills are limited,” Barr said at an event at The University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics.
Barr’s comments about the complexity of the former president’s vocabulary prompted laughs from the audience.
“If you get him away from ‘very, very, very,’ you know, the adjectives … they’re unfamiliar to him and they spill out, and he goes too far,” he said.
