    @Horace

    I haven’t pretended not to get that point, In fact I’ve conceded it throughout. Maybe “elite culture is in the tank for the dems” would make more sense and not be so circular.

    But the phrase used here was “main stream media”. The media landscape is different and not nearly as lopsided. Cable media is bifurcated into partisan left and partisan right. The (by far) dominant network in the US is partisan right.

    I think you are artificially constraining your definition of "media". And even then your point is weak, since the right-leaning media, as you're defining the word, is concentrated, while left-leaning is spread through many companies, all of which, when consolidated, would outweigh Fox.

    When people use the word "MSM", they mean the weight of overall cultural messaging, especially of the unavoidable kind - such as schools and jobs. Anybody with a corporate job can watch people above them in the success hierarchy, with their public recitations of leftism that are obviously prerequisite to advancement. Leftism is baked into our culture, and it's grown roots. We are surrounded with its messaging, and with the notion that you better get on board, or get left behind. The existence of the totally ignorable and pre-marginalized partisan news sources for the right, does nothing to change that. I understand that when someone uses the term "MSM", you jump at the chance to prove them wrong by saying "fox". But a good faith interpretation of the meaning of MSM, would be "mainstream messaging". Not the pedantic "cable ratings of Fox vs CNN".

    Education is extremely important.

      I've worked with people who act like that towards senior management. What's really disappointing is that it seems to work.

      the CEO/owner of the company I work for was born into it. His father started the company, and the family owns most of the stock. A quarterly results company-wide meeting never passes without fawning over his leadership, from the Vice Presidents presenting. The CEO presents sometimes. I would put his speaking ability, and his ability to think on his feet during question and answer sessions, at the level of a moderately precious high school student.

        @Horace That’s a rather in-depth way to explain the circularity of the charge.

          I bet you couldn't put my post into your own words. The circularity is a function of your constrained definition of "MSM", which you take to mean "cable news".

              However, she said, "When I got off the plane in Moscow, for the first time in a very long time I felt safe, and I felt heard and felt respected."

                Maybe this is the start of a mass conservative migration to go and live in Russia, the great defender of Christian virtue and press freedom.

                I was only joking

                    The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
