On a more serious note...I have no problem with Union statues at all. The national park at Vicksburg (only the park at Gettysburg is older) has tons of them.
It's amazing to walk through that battlefield and look at the front lines of the siege, where men fought each other from trenches not 100 yards apart...for months...No cowards on that battlefield.
