On Wednesday Afternoons I take Finley to his Little Gym Tumbling Class. After class we usually stop to get a donut at the Dunkin Donuts right next door.

They’ve always had 2 self ordering kiosks in the front and a cashier and register at the counter. Today when I went in the cash register was gone, replaced with another kiosk. No live cashier in the store at all. There were three new young men standing there waiting quietly while I placed the order and paid. Then one retrieved the donut and gave it to me… The kiosk did ask me for a 15% tip…

Something tells me that within a year, it’s going to be down to 1 guy… But leave it to Dunkin to tie together 2 different threads…

Might as well just be a large robot vending machine at this point. Our Dunkin has a kiosk too but only one time was I forced to use it (a long line waiting too). It’s terribly slow to complete an order instead of the old fashioned way of talking to a cashier. Luckily normally I’m with my kids who help my case when I ask the person behind the counter if I can just order at the counter instead.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
