No more land line

We got one a few years ago (after the DC area earthquake) as we wanted something connected to copper (no pun intended) and not reliant on the cell towers. I was surprised how hard it was to convey to some Verizon employees the concept of a landline. They were asking if I wanted VOIP, etc. I was like no... I want something connected to the copper phone lines (transmit power and communications).
Anyway...we eventually got rid of it too.
