The last book?

Seen on Twitter: "What will be the last book you read to finish off 2022 before the New Year?"
For me "Triplanetary," the first of the "Lensmen" saga by E.E. "Doc" Smith. Written in the 1950s, and runner-up to "Foundation" by Asimov for the Hugo award.
So far, it's really popcorn. A bit stale, too.

I hate to say it, but I hardly ever read anymore. It’s all Audible…

I go through phases of reading. Currently, I'm not reading I'm slightly ashamed to say.

I’ve got 2-3 hours left in Lord of Chaos. I’m doing a Wheel of Time re-listen…

I'll probably finish this this year, maybe a day or two later.
Some free Prime Reading, it is pretty lightweight.

Last book, first book? I don't have time to read these days. I sleep from about 1130pm until 530am, take care of kids, work, kids, and eventually around 9pm I am able to do my own stuff, so could I read? Yes, but I have projects/duties around the house I need to do, and eventually sit down to watch 30 minutes of Light & Magic or another show before going to bed. Don't cry for me, I'm more worried about not having much time to work out. It's all good, Baby 3 arrives in a few weeks...I'm sure that'll free me up!

Most likely my “last book” for 2022 will be a serial novel published online by some author in China. I am at installment # 2283. I kind of got hooked into it by listening to the novel being read aloud in some YouTube videos, I treated it like listening to an audio books
at the time. But then I quickly caught up with the audio production published in YouTube and had to look for the written novel if I want continue with the story. Then when I found out it was originally published in installments as online serial. I have no idea if it’s completed by the author of if the author is still publishing new installments daily, I just keep reading. I may or may not get to the end before 2022 runs out. :man-shrugging: -
A fabulous book my sister gave me for Christmas.
It’s a history of the 20s written in 1932 I believe. Great, engaging detail not just of major events but daily life. It really brings it to life.

Looks like it'll be this one in terms of actual reading:
On Audible:
-
@George-K you would be proud of me. I am reading the Harry Bosch books in order, and recently I ended with "The Narrows"

I liked that one. The setting comes back in another story. And yeah, reading them in order is good.
