That’s the point that @Doctor-Phibes is trying to make. The gas prices are not a US issue alone, and from that line of reasoning it seems to them that there is little or nothing that Biden has done or could do to affect the gas prices.

Either that, or the expertise of the leadership of both countries are inextricably tied together by the Illuminati or somebody similar, which I suppose is always possible

        I was only joking

I've written Tweets, Facebook posts, hell recorded reels and the like for Important People before. I've never done it on the govvie/political side of things, but I'd be willling to bet it's pretty much the same shit:

It's a media team. Couple of doers who write the stuff/take the photos/put it all together, a manager who reviews the work who may or may not be in contact with the Important Person and has the conversation with them. Once all is approved, it gets punted out.

            Please love yourself.

Of course, the flip side of this is the very real fact that oil IS a global market, as a result, Biden's actions DO have an impact on the global oil prices.

What do you think happens to the global market when the President of the world's largest oil-producing country in the world and the largest oil-consuming country in the world attacks the entire industry? When the guy campaigns on ending fossil fuel? When the first thing he does as President is to kill a major pipeline and cut many of the exploratory leases in the US? Pricing is based on more than just supply and demand. It's also based quite a bit on confidence levels. Biden is taking no steps to instill confidence. He is still stating every single day about how this is an incredible opportunity to end fossil fuels.

Putin exacerbated the situation, but the world has been seeing rising oil prices since Biden took office and a lot of that has been directly tied to Biden's politics.

I've seen dumber and more annoying people with a lot more followers. 8 million people follow that odious twat Piers Morgan. That's more than fucking Hitler had.

But really, complaining about pointless cretins on Twitter is like complaining about the smell of shit emanating from the local pig farm. If I didn't like it, I probably shouldn't have moved next door.

Federal Oil Leases Slow to a Trickle Under Biden

The Biden administration has leased fewer acres for oil-and-gas drilling offshore and on federal land than any other administration in its early stages dating back to the end of World War II, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis.

President Biden’s Interior Department leased 126,228 acres for drilling through Aug. 20, his first 19 months in office, the analysis found. No other president since Richard Nixon in 1969-70 leased out fewer than 4.4 million acres at this stage in his first term.

Harry Truman was the last president to lease out fewer acres—65,658—in 1945-46, when offshore drilling was just beginning and the federal government didn’t yet control the deep-water leases that have made up the largest part of the federal oil-and-gas program in modern times.

                            Screen Shot 2022-09-06 at 4.48.06 PM.png

Mr. Biden pledged to stop drilling on federal lands as a candidate, saying the nation needs to transition to clean energy. He softened his stance as oil prices soared following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine—calling for boosting oil supplies to ease runaway inflation—but he has nonetheless spurned a leasing program that for decades has been a go-to asset for presidents looking to raise U.S. energy production.

“The president said he was going to stop leasing. And he’s been remarkably successful,” said David Bernhardt, an energy lawyer and former Interior secretary in the Trump administration.

The program had already been in a long decline as oil-and-gas companies shied away from offshore drilling and federal lands amid the boom in fracking shale. Under Mr. Biden’s stewardship the decline has quickened, with leasing down 97% from the first 19 months of his predecessor Donald Trump’s term.

Why would you lease from a guy who wants to put you out of business?
