Apparently, security and some other friends of Chappell "started “kicking and punching” the suspect in an assault that went on for several minutes." Hopefully, at some point during the beating the suspect recognized his poor judgment in attacking Chappell.

ADD: "she saw the suspect being loaded into an ambulance after the show. She said he appeared to have been badly beaten."

@89th So that pretty much also makes Chappell's "security team" residents of Crazytown, doesn't it?

His security team were all laughing about the attack, till Jada Pinckett raised her eyebrow at them.

          Good.

Hope one of them was his jaw. Nothing gets your attention like having your jaw wired.

That’s unfortunate. It’s going to cost Dave quite a bit of money.

                Depends.

Depends on the laws of the state and if the attacker had a deadly weapon in his possession.

How is that relevant? This wasn’t an arrest.

What do you suggest they do with a guy and his deadly weapons if he continues to fight?

If there’s a group of people beating him I would interpret struggling as trying to get away.

Well-trained security people would in all probability be well equipped to disarm an ordinary guy of deadly weapons. Deadly weapons are only as deadly as their users are able to utilize them.

If you hire a bunch of thugs because you get your info from, I don't know, comic books, then you get what you got here. Lots of bloodshed and pain, very little efficiency.

The story sounded like it wasn’t just professional security beating him.
