"Endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights..."
That sounds like "natural" to me.
And that's the whole point of the Declaration. Some rights are not bestowed on people by the government. We have them because we are human.

Yes, the concept of rights presupposes a society. Otherwise, one has a right to try, and that's about it.

In some philosophical discussion your point may have relevance, but the assumption of natural rights possessed by all is the platform on which the nation was built.

We have long since established on TNCR and related forums that a natural inclination towards pretentious, self satisfied status seeking predicts leftist politics within current American society. What is most fascinating is that indoctrinated mainstreamers continue to consider themselves counter culture, simply because the idea that the mainstream is counter culture is one of the many ideas they are indoctrinated into, without rational reflection or self awareness. It goes both sides when you look at the votes.
With some exceptions, most of the people nominated are qualified. The reason they are voted against is because of their "philosophy", not their "qualification".
