Hell, that's more than I used to earn.

My friend, Surgeon Ray, was part owner of a B-25, and every year, he and the "Weary Warriors" would fly over our neighborhoods. A couple of times he took some OR staff with him (not me, sadly).

That's Ray on the right, by the way.

He said it cost them about $500 an hour to fly the thing.

Very cool - my initial reaction is the risk, not cost, is the most worrying thing, LOL. But I guess these folks (and these planes) know what they're doing.

He said he has some significant hearing loss from the engine noise (look how close he is). But there's nothing cooler than cruising at about 160 knots at about 5,000 feet, sliding the window open, and putting your arm on the sill.

He also said this was like driving a truck. Not graceful or lithe by any standard. It was WORK.

With videos like that, and overall the ability to do VR... it gets you pretty close to the experience!
