It would be the rational thing to do, even for a narcissistic sociopath. Maybe especially for a narcissistic sociopath.

But any argument for allowing trans women to compete with real women, based on some notion of "see, the trans women aren't winning anyway", will be wrong eventually if it's not wrong currently.

                    The odd person out:

A Virginia tech swimmer Reka Gyorgy has slammed the NCAA for allowing transgender women to compete against biological women after missing out on finals to Lia Thomas and according to the NYP, she wants the NCAA to change the rules.

A Virginia Tech swimmer blasted the NCAA over its rule allowing transgender women to compete against biological women after she came up short in a championship qualifying race that was dominated by University of Pennsylvania transgender swimmer Lia Thomas.

Reka Gyorgy leveled the criticism in a post to her private Instagram account after missing the cut on Thursday to compete in the finals of the 500 free at the NCAA Championships, Fox News reported.

“It doesn’t promote our sport in a good way and I think it is disrespectful against the biologically female swimmers who are competing in the NCAA,” Gyorgy said of the rule that has received considerable scrutiny since Thomas has smashed records in her first season competing at the collegiate level as a transgender woman.

Gyorgy also placed blame on Thomas for her failure to qualify. The Virginia Tech swimmer said she felt the last spot to get into the final was taken from her “because of the NCAA’s decision to let someone who is not a biological female compete.”

Reka Gyorgy. Sounds suspiciously like someone who may not have been raised by parents indoctrinated into American leftist ideology. Evil. This will hopefully be taken care of within a few generations. Her grandchildren will be ashamed of her backwards opinions.

You have to wonder how someone can be so dumb as to hope to get away with such a blatant deception with the existence of the Internet. Did he honestly think no one would notice???

I mean this as respectfully as possible, but this is the same person who thinks they are female...a concept I still have zero ability to grasp.

I will start by saying that (s)he should not be able to compete, and I get the emotion of people against it.

But , even prior to this, this topic was getting ALOT of attention in the US. And it seems to be a bit of a solution looking for a problem.

From my reading, only about 1 MM people in the US (0.6%) of the population says that they are transgender.

I dont think that transgender people go into sports more often than regular people. (In fact, I would guess that the probably do it less).

So, I think that the number of transgender athletes is very small.

Anyway, I think that there are a lot bigger problems to spend time on.

(Semi interesting fact: In Thailand, they call guys who turn into girls "woman of the second category")

It’s not their very presence in the competition. In fact that is not the issue at all. It is their unfair advantage. This issue applies regardless if the number of trans competitors is small. Every single time one of them wins an important competition the issue will come up again. No matter if that person is the only trans athlete in the field. Maybe especially if they are the only trans athlete in the field.

Agree with Horace. The small number may be good reason to not worry about (say) restroom issues but it isn’t compelling in athletics. You only need one bloke to make it unfair.

And even with a small number of trans athletes you’ll start seeing more and more records broken by the outlier XYs, at least in sports where upper body strength, and a larger cardiopulmonary system gives big advantages
