My back went out a week ago. No exercise. Not much sleep.

    Please love yourself.

          @George-K

Well, then on to the next town! :man-walking:

I'll give props to anyone who can pull of the map art successfully. It's so easy to get turned around at one single spot, and screw up the design. I managed to miss a couple small sections of a neighborhood the other night, and had to go back again today and grab them. This time I actually wrote down the route and brought it with me..

@Aqua-Letifer Back pain sucks--I hope it improves soon.

I usually don't pay a lot of attention to Strava KOMs etc., but I noted that today was the first time I got a time in the top ten in my age group in a rather popular segment with several thousand participants (and ~500 in my age bracket; usually I'm at least 100 or 200 places from #1).

            15624942-3fec-4100-aec2-f35a1aa6a0d4-image.png

Damn. Had I known before that I'd have such nice tailwind I would have given everything and would have maybe had a shot at the #1 spot. My average power was only 240W; I can sustain 350W over 5min if I'm not exhausted.

I also noted that I'd be QOM, even across all age groups, with the time I got if I'd identify as a different gender. Hmm...

Two Martins, an Andreas and an Eicke. I assume that’s just the German users?

No. It just happens to be the case that the dominant country of origin of cyclists in Germany is Germany. It's an odd coincidence 🙂

Another factor is that cycling isn't nearly as popular in groups of the population whose name is more like Eylül or Berat. They usually prefer a 3series BMW over a road bike 🙂

Tore a muscle in it pretty bad, and then the same thing happened in my neck. I didn't work out for a month.

                        Sucked. 😞

Better now, though, and I'm stretching multiple times daily to hopefully prevent future injuries.

Finally got off my fat ass and took a ride.

                                2020-06-07-15-34-17-Afternoon-Ride-Ride-Strava.jpg

It has been a few years since I did this. I was feeling good the entire time. It was hot so i consumed more than 1/2 of a 16 oz water bottle on the ride.

I am going to do this humble route every day, for a week. Then bump it up to 10 miles maybe 15 depending on how a feel for q week. I will be back doing 20-30 miles a day in a month or less.

                                Back in the saddle baby!

Good Job, Mark. I got out my bike as well though I haven't actually ridden yet. I need to do some maintenance - replace the brake pads and such.

Nice, Mark! No biking for me, but I'm doing martial arts again. I stopped at the dragon pole way back in the day, so I'm doing forms again, getting my flexibility and fitness back up, and learning the pole. I go out daily.

Man! This feels great. Legs are definitely sore. Some nice hills on this ride.

Yesterday's ride was a new record in terms of elevation for me.

That´s great, Mark! Sore legs is a great feeling.

Klaus, I´m jealous of those views, but that looks like some tough biking.

I really do miss biking sometimes. I stopped doing it when I moved out of the country and never got back into it, mostly because of my dog (she runs/hikes/kayaks with me). My plan is to get one of those bike trailer things for kids when she can´t run with me anymore and take her out on rides. We´re not quite there yet, but at almost-10 years old I´m guessing we´re not too far off. In the meantime, I do still want to get my bike (my trusty old steel-frame Miyata touring bike) tuned up and start getting back into it. At this point, though, it probably needs a lot more than a tune-up.
