No one ever said a virus behaved or virused logically.
I mean the conclusion. It’s very possible that the virus causes general milder symptoms, and even probable over time that newer versions will cause milder symptoms. It’s what happened with the flu and other viruses in the past. What is not logical is concluding that it is milder because it bonded with a cold virus…

It’s reasonable to assume the virus will become less deadly over time. Prognosticating Omicron this early? Not logical. And if it is less deadly, stating it’s because it bonded with a cold virus? That’s like the Underwear Gnome Equation.

I have absolutely no problem getting a virus, however I'm afraid that I have no real idea how they work.
In that way, they're a lot like smartphones, which also seem to mutate into something even more awful on a depressingly regular basis.

Indeed. They remind me of the opinions/noise you'd here from a group of women outside a grocery store or at a happy hour who decide to get into a current events discussion. Personally, I only watch because of that sweet eye candy, Ms Behar.

And this is why my surgeon friend pisses me off. He throws out all of these "statistics" about adverse reactions, the number of deaths because of the vaccination, etc.
And yet, how many of the hundreds of thousands in the US would be alive had they been vaccinated? Surely deaths avoided count for something.
As I mentioned in the other thread, I didn't ask him, "OK, what's the alternative, if not vaccination?" Should have.

- What's the scope of that number? In VA? America? The world? In what range is it the same?
- Do you know if the barrier to entry in hospitals has changed at all in your selected area at that time?
- Has the way hospitals keep track of those numbers changed at all? How about the number of new cases? (Again, in your chosen area.)
- Has the virus changed at all?
- Have the percentage of vaccinations per population changed at all? (Again, for your chosen area.)
Spoiler: none of those things are the same as in 2020. None. So either nothing we do means anything and it's time for Radical Nihilism, or your belief that those proportions have stayed the same for your given population base is happenstance.
