Good question. Admittedly, I didn't follow politics "back then" as I do now.
Would any Senate Majority leader have claimed such a lie as Harry Reid did about Romney's taxes, and brush it off with a "well, he didn't win, did he?" comment?
I guess lying about people on the floor of the "Greatest Deliberative Body on the Planet" was OK back then.

It depends on how far they take it. Iâd argue Watersâ encouraging confrontation of administration officials absolutely qualifies her for losing her seat.
But stripping someone of their seat for criticizing a foreign government? Thatâs not ok and is certainly not âgoose/ganderâ material.
