    For those of you who don't know, Culvers is a fast-food chain based in Wisconsin, and they've expanded to Illinois.

    One of my favorites, when we're doing fast food, is their "Cranberry Bacon Bleu Salad with Grilled Chicken." I always get the blue cheese dressing, and on occasion, I've asked for an extra dressing.

    I've had some of those extra dressings stored in the refrigerator for a while, and today I took a look.

    On the back, it says "use by..."

    What date is that supposed to be?

            I wouldn't worry about it if it's been refrigerated. MFR and i always go around about these things.

              Of course, it has been. What's the real "use-by" date?

                    Yeah, but...

                    I opened one of the blue cheese dressing packs and it had separated - oil on top, and some stuff on the bottom.

                    Just looked funky to me, so...nope.

                      @george-k

                      Now you know the importance of the time stamp at the end of the Best Before date. Too bad you missed that detail earlier, as you had to see for yourself that it was all funked up.
