I've been doing this ride every day for about 2 weeks now. I've lost no weight whatsoever. None. Not one pound. πŸ˜†

I honestly don't care, though, it's a good ride. Today I did it on the singlespeed in 95 degree afternoon heat and amazingly I didn't pass out.

@aqua-letifer You may be losing weight, but:

This excerpt on overtraining is from Healthline -- a site I have come to trust over the years. They seem quite credible. They write, "Exercising too much without resting enough in between can lead to low testosterone levels and high levels of cortisol, the stress hormone. These hormonal changes are often associated with loss of muscle tissue, weight gain, and excess belly fat."

Here's the whole article, 13 Signs of Overtraining and What to Do About It. https://www.healthline.com/health/signs-of-overtraining

That's true, but I doubt that's what's happening. I know what that feels like and I'm more or less within my limits. 20 miles to me is nothing (and Klaus and Phibes can attest that it's no big); that used to be my daily commute.

While some weight loss would be nice, that's not the goal anyway. I just think it's funny that the needle hasn't moved at all.

        Please love yourself.

I'm starting a three day fast today. It remains to be seen when I end it, but I'm definitely starting it today.

Done. 85 hours and counting. I'll break my fast later today. I lost 8.6 pounds, but most of that is glycogen and water. Probably lost 3 pounds of fat. Felt pretty good, but slightly weak. I'll do a longer fast in a while.

            Education is extremely important.

Cycled 60 miles over the weekend, in very humid weather. Was great while I was moving, but when I stopped I was sweating like a Christmas pig, as my Russian friend says.

I haven't lost any weight, but I have quite a sore backside - the heat seemed to impact it in ways I won't go into in detail.

              I was only joking

For the full comedic effect, you have to say 'Svet like a Christmas peeg' in a strong Russian accent.

                    Finally did it. 200.

Only took about a year and I have no idea how. I've been riding every freaking day, rain or shine, but not for very longβ€”only 30 minutes some days. That's for mental health, though, not weight loss.

I can actually fit into some cold-weather riding crap I bought years ago when I was putting 150 miles a week in. I had filled out a bit since.

It's like the needle didn't move an inch for months and then bam, this happens overnight.

                    Please love yourself.

                      2. It's water weight you lost because you're over your period.

4 years ago I lost 40 pounds with a weight loss plan Karla represents and works with. I wound up dropping the plan, though, because the foods upset my IBS. That weight came back over the course of the pandemic... Last week my doctor told me to take Prilosec for a month as I was having more issues with my IBS. Since the Prilosec was working, I figured I would try the plan again. I lost 5 pounds in one week! :Happy Dance: :Happy Dance:

Not really "weight loss," but whatever:

I've been keeping up with bike-riding, but 15 days ago, I decided to try to challenge myself: ride every day, no matter what. Raining, windy AF, cold snap, I don't care, I'm gonna be out there.

So far so good. It's been a lot of fun in a masochistic sort of way. Each ride is about 15 miles. Some days I go out for longer. Most rides have been at night.

Ridiculous bragging: I found a 14-mile bike trip I now take daily.

Average speed on eBike: 14.8 mph
Average speed on singlespeed: 15.7 mph

I'm able to do this consistently.

Freaking nutters. I think the downhills are responsible for this, especially the slight downhills. Just a guess, though.

Average speed on eBike: 14.8 mph
Average speed on singlespeed: 15.7 mph

I'm able to do this consistently.

Freaking nutters. I think the downhills are responsible for this, especially the slight downhills. Just a guess, though.

@aqua-letifer Sounds excellent. Height profile? Gear ratio of the single speed?

                                          Maybe?

Slightly more aggressive posture on the singlespeed, but only slightly; I swapped out my stem to raise the angle a bit. eBike is basically straightup MTB: more upright, wider handlebars.

Gear ratio on the SS is 2.8. Gear ratio on the eBike in highest gear is 3.2.

                                          Please love yourself.
