    The Republican Accountability Project.

    The RAP?

Looks like a new kid on the block. The RAP seems to focus on voting rights issues rather than being anti-Trump per se.

It claims: “We are Republicans, former Republicans, and conservatives committed to protecting every American’s right to vote.”

It issues “report cards” for elected GOP officials rating their track records on voting rights issues: https://accountability.gop/report-card/

Trumpism Has Entered Its Final Form
In today’s Republican Party, Trump is becoming what was once unthinkable—conventional, unexceptional, even something of an establishment figure.
        …
Two days later Alex Jones, the far-right radio host and conspiracy theorist Trump courted in 2016, rebuked Trump. After playing a clip of Trump declaring that the vaccines are working, Jones responded, “BS. Trump, that’s a lie. You’re not stupid.” Jones added, “Shame on you, Trump. Seriously. Hey, if you don’t have the good sense to save yourself and your political career, that’s okay. At least you’re gonna get some good Republicans elected, and you know, we like ya. But my God. Maybe you’re not that bright. Maybe Trump’s actually a dumbass.”
        …

Ax, put aside your fixation on Trump for a minute and answer the question I've asked you three times now - are you still proud of Biden?

As for Trump, he just keeps on being proven right. The people he said would destroy the country ARE destroying the country. What do you think about how the democrat party is destroying the country, Ax?

In a new CNN poll released Sunday, 59 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents say that believing Trump won the 2020 election is "important" to being a Republican—36 percent indicated that it's "very important" and 23 percent "somewhat important."

GOP Rep. Gonzalez of Ohio, one who voted to impeach Trump, announced that he will not seek re-election, citing “toxicity” within the GOP as a reason.

                https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/16/us/politics/anthony-gonzalez-ohio-trump.html

”Representative Anthony Gonzalez, one of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Donald Trump, is the first of the group to retire rather than face a stiff primary challenge.”

I may be wrong, but iirc, you're not a fan of Bush the Lesser (as Quirt referred to him). I think you've been critical of the Minority Leader as well.

Good to see that you agree with The Orange Man.

There seems to be little doubt that Bush 43 engaged in some misadventures which have left the nation poorer (see Afghanistan - but you can also lay some of the blame on 44). I have no informed opinion on how the financial crisis at the end of his term was handled other than to say it was a cluster.

The Bush family took some shots at Trump during the campaign and certainly did not deign to help him during his presidency.

Trump can certainly hold a grudge.

As for McConnell, the Murder Turtle has sharp elbows and is pretty good at his craft.

There seems to be little doubt that Bush 43 engaged in some misadventures which have left the nation poorer (see Afghanistan - but you can also lay some of the blame on 44). I have no informed opinion on how the financial crisis at the end of his term was handled other than to say it was a cluster.

McConnell? The consummate politician. He's as savvy as Pelosi, and he knows the game - certainly he knows it better than Trump does. I think Trump is a binary type of guy - no nuance, no shades of grey. McConnell is not that type of person.

Oddly enough, I pretty much agree with all of that.

I must admit, when I said 'Those who support Trump', you weren't somebody who sprang immediately to mind.

                                  I was only joking

The Bush family took some shots at Trump during the campaign and certainly did not deign to help him during his presidency.

Trump can certainly hold a grudge.

As for McConnell, the Murder Turtle has sharp elbows and is pretty good at his craft.

Arguably Trump's biggest weakness is that he takes everything personally.

Trump wants to depose McConnell, but the Senate GOP appears unwilling to go along.

Mr. Trump has spoken recently with senators and allies about trying to depose Mr. McConnell and whether any Republicans are interested in mounting a challenge, according to people familiar with the conversations. There is little appetite among Senate Republicans for such a plan, lawmakers and aides said, but the discussions risk driving a wedge deeper between the most influential figure in the Republican Party and its highest-ranking member in elected office.

Trump Gets 58% Support of Republicans, Pence 13%, DeSantis 9% in 2024 Primary Poll

Marco Rubio and Nikki Haley tied for fourth place at three percent each.

But if Trump decides not to run, then Pence and DeSantis would move up to the first and second places, Ted Cruz would barge into the third place.
