"I would vote for a soup can before I would vote for Trump." It came off as a joke, but what, did you think TDS sufferers felt differently? Do you honestly believe that elderly white progressive females and feminized men would choose Trump over anybody else? Literally? And did you think there was a more electable soup can than Biden? No, "Never Trump" really did mean, "anybody but Trump". So, this is anybody. One could find in this situation the perils of emotional thinking, if one was inclined to.

      Education is extremely important.

Yesterday : Something Is Wrong with the President

The transcript of President Joe Biden’s interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos dropped, and the president’s incoherence, insistence that he was incorrectly briefed, denial that he was warned by his military advisers, and oddly low profile in the past week raise troubling questions about his ability to perform his duties.

What’s Going On with President Biden?
After making no public appearances for four days — during a major foreign crisis — President Biden read a 20-minute speech off a teleprompter on Monday afternoon and took no questions. He immediately returned to Camp David. He had no events on his schedule Tuesday. On Wednesday, he gave another 20-minute speech about vaccine boosters off a teleprompter from Camp David, and again took no questions. Also on Wednesday, the president sat for an on-camera interview with George Stephanopoulos that did not go well. According to the White House public records, Biden has had two phone conversations with foreign leaders in the past ten days — one with Boris Johnson and one with Angela Merkel.

As of this writing, Biden has no public events on his schedule for today. He is scheduled to receive the president’s daily briefing from the intelligence community and meet with his national-security team. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, he is scheduled to return to his house in Delaware today.

This is a highly unusual schedule for a president during a foreign-policy crisis. Yes, a president can perform his job anywhere, whether it’s Camp David or his own private residence. But Biden is barely appearing in public, not saying much of anything when he does, not answering any questions outside of his lone scheduled interview, and sounding angry when he did face questions from Stephanopoulos.

Today: What Is President Biden Doing?

One: Is it normal for an American president to take 36 hours to respond to an urgent call from the U.K. Prime Minister? Sure, some delay, during an ongoing foreign crisis, is to be expected. But a day and a half?

Two: As of this writing, shortly after 2 p.m. Eastern time, President Biden has no events listed on his schedule for today, tomorrow, or this coming weekend. The Federal Aviation Administration has pushed back the flight restrictions for “VIP travel” around Wilmington, Delaware from Friday at 12:30 p.m. Eastern to 9:30 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, August 23. Despite the severity of the current crisis, it appears Biden still plans to spend the weekend at one of his homes in Delaware.

Three: For everyone responding with “duh, everyone could see this, Jim, everyone could see this for years, what took you so long to write about this?” I refer you to this September 12, 2019 Corner post and the August 11, 2020 Morning Jolt. People have wondered if Biden was starting to lose some of his mental acuity for a long time, and certainly since he started his 2020 presidential campaign. (As I wrote after the first debate, Biden “seems to have aged a decade since he left the vice presidency.”)

But this is different. Biden is commander-in-chief now. People’s lives depend upon his decisions. An aging president is a far more troubling problem than an aging candidate.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s having a bit of an internal meltdown over this debacle.

What's absolutely fascinating to me is the strong implication that Joe being unable to do the job is a new idea. Because democrats are just now deciding that that would be reasonable to question. No one else has ever brought this up before. Nope, never.

Like I said, we politicized reality.

To be fair, if you follow the MSM and the usual outlets middle-to-left people like to follow, none that I know of broached the subject of Biden's mental fitness to do the job.

Shucks, I said during the debates he was 💊💊💊 up.

The push to invoke the 25th for Trump was because he was a) an asshole and b) people didn't like him. There was some talk about his mental stability (by people who never examined him, of course), but not because he was incompetent.

So, this is an interesting place we're at. Let's assume that Biden is incompetent (I know, I know). Let's assume that he's not doing a good job (I know, I know).

So, what are the constitutional means for removing him from office? Other than the 25th, the only other alternative is impeachment and convictiion, which, as we saw twice in the last 4 years, is a high bar.

If you want to remove him from office, the 25th is the only way. It would be interesting to see whether VPOTUS and the cabinet think that this is viable. My guess is no, let Edith Wilson his handlers continue to run the government they'd say.

If they do 2022 AND 2024 will both be bloodbaths for the Dems. They knowingly ran an imbecile, with an unqualified blow job queen for a running mate. And Taiwan will be in Bejing's hands.

No. It surfaced during the 1st year of Trump's term. It was moot after Jan 6.

Oh ok. I guess I only really considered the possibility of its use after Jan 6th (and I supported it, too).

Which is why you were an uninformed idiot.

How so? Do a quick Google search for “Trump 25th” and you’ll see all coverage was about it’s use in January of this year, which like I said is when the possibility of it’s use actually gained some traction.
