We know exactly where the 140 number comes from. It is the number of officers who self-reported any injury whatsoever, from friendly fire pepper spray to whatever was the worst physical injury an officer suffered that day. (According to my quick google, this was a concussion suffered when an officer was pushed to the ground.) The difference between "beaten" and "self reported any injury whatsoever" is not remotely a pedantic nit-pick.

You think there were 1000 separate physical assaults on the officers that day, 1000 separate beatings, and nobody drew their weapons and fired at the rioters, except the guy who shot Babbit, who never touched anybody. That is quite remarkable. The easiest explanation for this is that someone responsible for counting had a very, very broad definition of an assault.

Joe does not approve. I doubt Bibi cares. It could be just a show too. "Oh, I opposed that strike" wink wink.

To your point though, you’re right I’m not sure what Lindell would do with 25,000 logfiles from a voting machine or whatever was downloaded or deleted. Hard to commit fraud from logs unless there was a plan to edit them and then publish the edited results as “proof of voting machine inaccuracies!!” Actually that would make sense, to steal real voting logs, edit them, then create more smoke implying fire.

Or maybe he thought there was fraud, and was looking for evidence. You know, the explanation this lady has already given, and appears to believe. The explanation that is staring you in the face, and somehow remains entirely out of sight.

That would be like starting a "Pete Gambles" thread.

Pollen rides the wind currents and goes where it will. Very few strains of corn have no modified genes.

And...Just in the last couple of hundred years...Golden Bantam is one of the very few heritage sweet corn plants. It came along in the late 1800's and popularity really took off early in the 1900's when you could start to buy it commercially. Until then, yellow corn was for horse feed, people usually ate white corn, mostly as corn meal, roasting ears, grits or hominy.

But, Golden Bantam is a cross between even older yellow sweet varieties.

Now, having said all that, how many of you have ever grown Golden Bantam? It has a really good taste, sweet, but with a lot of "corn" flavor. And as far as I'm concerned, the juice ain't worth the squeeze. I can plant a good hybrid...Maybe an old one like Merit or Funk's G90, or a newer one like Peaches&Cream. It will make twice the ears, be sweeter and have a longer window of sweetness to pick it in. GB makes small ears and you better watch it like a hawk or you'll miss the best flavor window.

GB works best for the backyard gardener who wants enough corn to eat fresh and put up a few ears, while keeping costs down by saving seeds. I'd rather pay $20, plant four rows and make 400 or 500 ears.

Tim Walz has a problem misspeaking.

Since being tapped as Kamala Harris’ running mate, the folksy, plain-speaking Minnesota governor has had to explain a growing number of inaccurate statements — and at times embellishments — about his past. They range from comments about his military service to his visit to Hong Kong more than three decades ago to clarifying that his family didn’t specifically use in vitro fertilization.

It’s unclear whether Walz’s verbal errors will undercut his credibility with voters. But the need to continually clean up those claims could politically hurt Walz and Harris, who are locked in a tight race with Donald Trump and JD Vance. And in some cases, key members of Harris’ circle weren’t aware of some of the inaccurate statements until they became public despite the vetting process, according to four people familiar with the conversations who were granted anonymity to discuss the matter.

Even Walz admits he "misspoke."

The most recent example came Tuesday, when a CBS debate moderator pressed Walz over his claim that he had been in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square protests in 1989, when Hong Kong was still under British rule (Hong Kong returned to Chinese rule in 1997). Walz over the years had said publicly he had been in Hong Kong during the crackdown in Beijing, including 10 years ago in Congress.

But on Tuesday during the debate, he awkwardly responded that “all I said on this was, is, I got there that summer,” and “I’m a knucklehead at times” before conceding he “misspoke.”

Walz’s misstatements could contradict the image that the campaign has painted of him as an upstanding, everyday Midwest guy.

"Misspeaking." Funny when other politicians do the same thing another word is used.

That was one of Vance’s best tactics in the debate. Yes, it was done to death, but it kind of needed to be. And reminding people that instead of blindly trusting the promises of the future, both Presidential candidates have a record that you can look back on.

She seems nice.
