@taiwan_girl As I understand it, they were regional gangsters, mafiosi. The politician had the reputation of being something of a Robin Hood figure among locals; not unlike Al Capone who also ran soup kitchens for the poor in addition to his primary business of bootlegging and other criminal activities.

Tornadoes are becoming more frequent in populated parts of the United States The role to which climate change is a factor in these shifts is unknown Climate change isn't a factor in these shifts. These shifts are climate change. And I, for one, don't think we have a very good idea why climate change might occur because we spend our time and money blaming the climate on political whims.

Probably right. But at $1000 a month, it'll take a while to kill them all off. First they came for the rich fat people, and I said nothing...

Yes, urbanization is basically an unbroken 500 year secular phenomenon, with a dramatic uptick when we harnessed hydrocarbons. So yeah, net migration is always to blue areas.

@George-K said in Speaking of Judges and Money: @taiwan_girl said in Speaking of Judges and Money: Who said that the judges and the courts are not getting more political? LOL Remind me, how much time have you spent in Illinois? This is a tradition that can only rival Louisiana, right @Jolly ? Y'all are minor league, but at least y'all are AAA.

Goofy idea. I believe that many/most? US utility companies have things in place to help low income personnel.
