Talked to BIL this morning. He's on the rural route a tad over an hour east from Tallahassee. He didn't get much rain (unusual for east side), but did get some wind. He only lost one big limb on his place, but there are three trees on the county road. He's meeting his SIL at 8 and they'll cut them off the road. Haven't checked the news about Tallahassee...

Trump has said he will be at a MacDonald's sometime in the next two weeks. While there, he said he thinks he'll take a turn doing fries. That way, he'll have more experience than Harris.

It's easy enough to get hurt trying to do everything right, when it comes to felling, bucking, splitting and stacking. Add in logarithmic stupidity and injury is assured.

Just last year, both Ivory Coast and Ghana received record rainfall prior to the autumn cocoa harvest. Entirely possible that there was a record just before the harvest, but overall, Ghana's rainfall is remarkably consistent over the decades. From what I can see, there's a thing called "Comment K" in the US which restricts strict liability for drugs. In Europe, liability is less strict anyway.

Kefir is popular in this house. Even I have developed a taste for it. Took a while, mind you.

Honestly I think it’s a combo of two things. One, she doesn’t do well with bad sleep and…well let’s just say it’s been probably 6 years since either of us have topped 8 hours of sleep in a night. Our kiddos are sweet but they loved waking up 1-3 times a night before they turned 3. Second, hate to say it. But the smart phone. Very easy (and understandable) to sit down and just scroll and relax for…far too long. Parents and stay at home moms did a lot more around the house in the 80s and 90s because the smartphone didn’t exist yet, or internet, or more than a few tv channels.

Look, it was lawfare to begin with, a particularly odious form of politics that needs to die the death of a woodpecker, no matter who originates it.

@Axtremus said in Yet another data breach - 106 million people: @Horace said in Yet another data breach - 106 million people: There is a certain de facto safety when everybody else had their info leaked, too. Not really. Filtering big data is not that hard these days. The safety I have in mind doesn't come from a difficulty in filtering a large dataset. The value of the information is lessened if it's understood by the marketplace that the information is no longer private, and no longer a reliable indicator of one's identity.

I was aware of him, that’s about it. As for Jazz trumpet players, I rather like Dave Douglas. Check out his 2015 album Dada People on the greenleaf label.

@Axtremus said in President Biden's track record: Manage the COVID, then the economic recovery following COVID, those are huge challenges. Giving Congress a chance to enact a legislative fix is reasonable. With all these, 3.5 years ain't too bad. Ah, he was distracted. If only he had had a capable black woman #2 who could have done it.
