Ha no. I didn’t meet her until 2006 or so and the convention was 2004.

In my contract it specifically states that my employment can be terminated for any reason, or for no reason at all. I'm not sure that it works that way in practice, as the company has very complex HR and anti-discrimination policies.

Fauci was cautiously optimistic about the summer and we all listened to him. Funny how people don’t mention that as a reason for us letting our guard down. Also Simpson’s paradox may not be correct if the older people are protecting themselves. A massive increase in 35 yo cases does little to the death rate, actually decreases the IFR.

Nothing against it, just that the value density is much lower.

@Catseye3 said in Biden, you wascally wacist, sexist you...: I don't know how current it is, but if you're interested in a detailed breakdown, go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Democratic_Party_vice_presidential_candidate_selection There you will learn that two of the candidates are/were Elizabeth Warren and Maxine Waters. NNTTM. Oh, and Nancy Pelosi. Which should give you an idea of how reliable this list is. Do any of them past the sniff test?

@jon-nyc said in Would the country be better off if....: @Horace said in Would the country be better off if....: Maybe nobody wants to own it now, but in fact the other side of the discussion has always been about hand wavy notions that Presidents have random, undefinable, or no important effect on the economy or voters' money in general. Why do you think it is that the stock market has performed so much better under Democratic administrations? Overall trends don't necessarily track minority contributors to those trends. But the discussions we've had about this originated in opinions about Trump vs Bernie or Warren. We don't have legitimate historical precedent for that comparison, even though you'd see that statistic trotted out by Dem voters every time the subject was broached. I don't anticipate Biden will be as drastic as those two would have been, at least by intention.
