Those ladders were probably good practice for the ones leading out of the trenches.

They have to get Quinto to talk through his mouth. That whiney nasal sound is awful, really distracting.

@jon-nyc said in Perspective on the First Shots First approach: By the way, we (US) could have given quite literally everybody over 65 their first dose as of about two weeks ago. Imagine the current death rate and hospitalization rate if we had. It’s a great point. To juxtapose though we know that younger people are superspreaders and those over 65 account for little spread. I saw something recently on this and the data was striking. I think at the end of the day you will find however if we protected the old from dying it would be a better route -and hopefully that would mean return to the next normal faster.

@george-k said in Cancelled: “Why teach a book that may alienate some students when there are so many other books that can teach the same skills?” One reason is so students can see the N word over 200 times and understand more about their heritage. idiots

@lufins-dad said in Virginia GOP primary: The only reason why this is getting media attention is because Amanda Chase is one of the two possible GOP Gubernatorial candidates. Chase is a Trumpster in the worst connotation. She’s doomed in a convention, but could win a populist primary. Hit opponent Cox is an establishment Republican that wouldn’t be nearly as exciting to the Trump crowd in a Primary. After 2020, there is an opportunity for Republicans to win ground back in Virginia, but not if Chase is heading up the ticket, so the media is going to make hay over this. Sounds like the Virginia GOP is getting it’s act together. Love the media, dammed if the GOP censures a non Trumpster, damned if they find a way to prevent a Trumpster from winning. Lol

By the way, is the naval variant still scorching carrier decks?

I find the fact that they had to post it tells a story... Obviously, a transgender man showed up and entered the park. The question, though, is why? They must have identified as a gay man, what did that person expect to happen?

@renauda said in The Big Lie: @horace said in The Big Lie: I admitted to thinking twice and thrice when someone historical name drops as if they have some deep knowledge of some deep concept that applies directly to our current lives. I'm very confident that such stuff tends to be BS. People are drawn to it because people are learners. Good for them. But they want it to mean more than it actually does. Actually they do not want it to mean anything more than what it is, an event or series of past events. Like literature, history describes the world as it has been created by the human condition. It is not about anything else. You are correct though people are learners. They learn from experience. If you don't like it or find it offensive, I suggest you stop reading my posts. That's fine, I enjoy your posts.

@mik said in White Adjacent?: In any event they seem determined to refuse to focus on what really builds success. Hint: It ain't race. Sometimes It is getting to be the rare tv advertising that doesn't feature a person of color. A person without color seems to get used as half of an interracial couple.

I didn't realise they were still in business. One near us went belly up about 10 years ago, and the store is still standing empty.
