Yo Bro, dis de bro stand ina de thing: "(...we can confidently and reasonably believe that everything they say is pandering garbage. They assert these ridiculous theories, not because they believe them, but to increase interracial hostility, render minorities helpless and dependent on these powerful White people, destroy political opposition from White people who won't get with the leftist program, and maintain and increase their own political power." It does seem that the downtrodden believe their problems are someone else’s fault. At least that is the narrative. They are wrong.

I’m more inclined to just throw all ideas into one list and let AI/machine learning categorize them.

@jon-nyc said in Depressing: story has a right-of-center narrative. Perhaps it's just my bias, but I didn't get that impression. The only scene where I thought it came close was at the Yale dinner, when someone made a "Redneck" comment, and Vance responded. Other than the "If you work at it hard, you might get somewhere" narrative, that is.

I don't think it was technically flamenco. But, yeah, it was a lot of fun. Reminded me of the guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela.

@loki said in Near the top half of his class.: @taiwan_girl said in Near the top half of his class.: @doctor-phibes said in Near the top half of his class.: His mother didn't realise he wasn't going to graduate until his senior year, if you believe the article. It might not be the school that's the problem. Agree with this. From the article "She thought her oldest son was doing well because even though he failed most of his classes, he was being promoted. " Why did not she take the responsibility to contact the school? Schools cannot (and should not) be the baby sitter for parents. Sad story all around. It is probably that he has no good future. His mother is obviously not real aware of things. And so the circle continues. Many of these children do not have a stable home and shuttled from relative to relative. They come to school hungry, tired and scared. Yep, and as they grow up, they think it is normal and do not know any different. So they repeat the same mistakes, probably not even knowing they are mistakes until it is too late.

It’s a good piece except this what you get when you invade the Capitol building. There will be more penance before it’s all over.

I saw a guy interviewed the other day who believed that Joe Biden was secretly trying to winkle out enemies or pedophiles or something, and that once The Pope was captured, Donald Trump would be re-instated as President. You're a scary fucking bunch.
