@george-k said in Landlord responsibility: @mik I assume this would be covered by the landlord's insurance, right? Would his rates go up? More than likely. But that's what insurance is for.

Minnesnowta is having a contest to name eight snowplows, one for each MNDOT district. Results not released yet.

@horace said in Trash Bags - You've been doing it wrong all this time.: @axtremus said in Trash Bags - You've been doing it wrong all this time.: The challenge is how to quickly force the excess air out of the trashcan. Excess air trapped between the liner and the trashcan reduces the usable space. I do not have a quick solution for this. Please share if you have one. Poke a hole in the trash bag. Lol.

@george-k I wondered if it had something to do with his tax return thing. I figure they learned to live in a marriage in a way that suited them both before the Whitehouse, I’m willing to bet she is fine with the same arrangement now (with a stronger pre-up?). But I could be wrong.

Not a criticism of any sort here but I wonder if people today consume mostly the bits of the long tail of the internet versus news that is truly impactful. I’d like to study what social media has done to what info we consume.

It's probably worth it to throw the orchestras under the proverbial bus to safeguard the rights and well-beings of all workers. If the UK Parliament wants to pass a low to orchestra musicians, ride-share drivers, and/or other "gig workers" differently, they can pass new laws to that effect, somewhat like what California has done with "Prop 22." Also wonder if things might have been different if the UK is still part of the EU.

@jon-nyc said in Refreshing: Mik I was thinking you picked the right time to go to AL. To think you might have chosen Galveston or something. Or stayed home. Actually it was unseasonably cold last week. This week should be 65-70 and much better. I think we will drive over to Destin. Haven't been there since around 2007 so we will see how we like it.

We have a gas fireplace too, but t is only about 12 feet from our thermostat. When we run it the family room is plenty warm but the rest of the house gets cold.

The thing about AOC is that yes, she has no fiscal responsibility at all, and I wouldn't want her anywhere near the levers of power, and she's really not that bright, but it's just conceivably possible that her heart's in the right place. I don't know what place Ted Cruz' heart is in. Presumably he has to hide it somewhere safe so that nobody can drive a stake through it.

@george-k said in Dr. Berenson speaks about COVID: @doctor-phibes said in Dr. Berenson speaks about COVID: He's also claimed that the vaccines don't work. I'm not sure why we should listen to him. https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/alex-berenson-attacks-the-vaccine-that-will-end-the-lockdowns/ You've got to wonder about his motivation for writing this stuff. Maybe he's just another kook. Or maybe he's doing this to sell more novels.
