Can't be gettin' the COVID, ya know. Thought you already had COVID. Don't dare get it again. Our ounce of prevention is a liquid ounce, or two.

It's where you make the most money, so good farmers prosper most.

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/12/business/private-equity-taxes.html @89th, the article linked above hits truer at the title of your thread. This one is about the “carry interest” privileges enjoyed by the investment bankers, the abuse of that privilege, and the almost nonexistent IRS auditing of private equity firms despite explicit whistle blower complain against them for this sort of abuses.

@mik said in Graduation...: Yep. Time for him to have a little fun. Jon style. Actually, it’s more likely to be @Aqua-Letifer style. They got there, went grocery shopping, spent an hour arguing over what laundry detergent to buy, then went to the house, played pool, ordered Sushi, and are spending the evening watching Conjuring and Real Steel.

@klaus said in Bill Maher: Progressophobia: @horace said in Bill Maher: Progressophobia: That would literally mean fear of progressives. Bill, you have a point, but you are dumb. No, that would be Progressiveophobia. Progressophobia is fear of bad canned soup.

@brenda said in 44 - who'da thunk it?: @jolly said in 44 - who'da thunk it?: Damn, that's a good woman! Seriously, I wish you many more. Many, many more... He means years, George, not women. I like George. I have no desire to see him end his life prematurely.

Because they don’t want their boards to be associated with potentially dangerous drivel and/or a possible lawsuit? Who decides what is drivel? In this case, the de-facto moderator of the discussion board - the host. Considering the zero realistic chance the forum host cared about that post, I would zoom out one level to identify the de facto moderator. Namely, whatever the host was afraid of if they'd just ignored whatever complaint they received about the post. An interfering busy-body, no doubt. Governmental or otherwise.

It may be that both parents are less than stellar, or that the mother created the mess that led to this. Either way, the child should not have been put in this situation. Public humiliation and rejection by a parent are hard to forget.
