@loki said in Hey Brenda.... it's not just Minnesooota!: Well, that's the news from Brenda’s house, where all the toads are strong, all the frogs are good looking, and all the tadpoles are above average. That's the post of the day week month.

Emotional thinkers -> one death -> outlaw that proximal cause These people shouldn't be trust with social policy, but by definition, they always are. It's not really emotional thinking, it's CYA thinking. I work in public safety, I know how it operates. There's always a fear that for every tip, there's an associated iceberg. The area tends to attract people who suffer from an abundance of caution. I certainly agree it's CYA at its executive level. But it's all supported ultimately by the culture. This is a very litigious culture, which also explains quite a bit about how people think The media stories aren't interested in how litigious we are.

@mik said in Fed study shows less business destroyed by COVID than expected: We need less unemployment subsidies. Employers cannot find enough candidates. As I said...The local Mahindra dealer can't find a teenager to sweep the floor for $10/hr.

I grew u learning to drive in nyc , starting with drivers Ed in high school. Knew every pothole on the FDR by heart, from the Brooklyn bridge up to Washington heights. My big joy of life was flying up or down the long one way avenues, say, third, or Madison, and hitting all the lights for twenty or more blocks. Not possible on Park because it’s two way, so u eventually hit a light. Big concern in picking routes. Nowadays I guess it’s all waze.

Lots of people have said the world will end. As long as they don't go into too much detail regarding timing, they'll eventually be proved correct. I seem to think Daniels time-scales may have been shown to be a bit off.

@george-k said in $127/hr: The only program in Illinois: https://www.rushu.rush.edu/college-health-sciences/academic-programs/cardiovascular-perfusion-masters-degree-program?utm_medium=vanity_url Rush is a good school. Hey, I qualified! I even had 54 more hours of science courses than needed. Of course, those were back when we were writing down ReDox equations with a stone tablet, hammer and chisel. Hate to know I even had to get 25% of an inorganic test right nowadays...
