Who will adjudicate whether the Taliban is a “legitimate government”?

[Shrug.] The UN? Is this a big concern of the Taliban?

Nope. Not even for a nanosecond.

20 years before those born in the pandemic can vote

26th Amendment established the voting age at 18.

So, at most 18 years, at least 17 years.

Trump is easily still going to be President at that point. Just ask him.

    Interesting.

    This is triage, basically.

"Who's most likely to survive? Treat them."

Pretty much my take on it too.

There’s a police charger up on auction right now. 5.7 L Hemi V8. 370 HP… Needs tie rods and some body work and a paint job to cover for where the police equipment was mounted. If it goes low enough, I might just go for it…

The Taliban are going door-to-door taking women and children. The people must mark their house with an “X” if they have a girl over 12 years old, so that the Taliban can take them. If they find a young girl and the house was not marked they will execute the entire family. If a married woman 25 years or older has been found, the Taliban promptly kill her husband, do whatever they want to her, and then sell her as a sex slave.

Husbands and fathers have given their wives and daughters guns and told them that when the Taliban come, they can choose to kill them or kill themselves—it is their choice.

Taliban militants have allegedly burnt down an amusement park a day after they were seen enjoying rides following the capture of Kabul.

The Taliban militants, some of them with weapons in hand, were seen enjoying a ride on the electric bumper cars in the videos. In another video, Taliban militants can be seen riding small merry-go-round horses.

A new video which surfaced recently shows a similar park blazing in flames after the Taliban set it on fire.

As an aside I found an interesting piece on what Ivy League graduates do when they graduate.

    https://www.financialsamurai.com/ivy-league-graduate-salaries-and-occupations/

The reason the financial sector recruits from MIT and Harvard (and no, not from their -studies departments) is because they want the highest IQs. Derivatives etc need to stay one step ahead of the game to take some piece of the numerically complex financial pie, value-added not necessary or encouraged.

As far as -studies nonsense that Harvard has gotten in to the business of producing, obviously those people are useful only inasmuch as they would have been useful without their degrees.

I know a fair number of Ivy League kids. Mainly they soon go to Med school, Law School, a top B school, a top consulting firm or investment banking.

Consulting firms hire them so they can command a higher billable rate and a 3.5 GPA is the cut off to be considered. Most engineers I know don’t go to an Ivy League School.

Yes the sales aspect is never to be overlooked. Your alma mater may not be useful in some respects, but when you're a salesman for a high-priced product to a well-heeled client, it's nice to be able to say it at the dinner meeting.

100%. Also they combine IQ with extroversion and swagger which makes them well suited for biz Dev.

    Not all, I don't think.

As of yesterday, about 9% of what they had in that hospital were breakthrough cases, so I'm sure one or two if those awaiting a bed have probably been vaccinated.

They can have a, pardon the expression, fire sale of lightly-used US military hardware.

I always said I did not know when the end of the world would be, but I knew where it would start - Los Angeles. A metro area of what now, 15 million? That doesn't have enough water for a million people. I was always amazed at how much automatic watering was done with all that imported water.

Pump it in from the sea. It's their only option long-term.
