    story has a right-of-center narrative.

Perhaps it's just my bias, but I didn't get that impression. The only scene where I thought it came close was at the Yale dinner, when someone made a "Redneck" comment, and Vance responded.

Other than the "If you work at it hard, you might get somewhere" narrative, that is.

Does anyone happen to know what’s the fewest number of molecules I can make a violin out of?

    This might help.

I don't think it was technically flamenco. But, yeah, it was a lot of fun. Reminded me of the guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela.

His mother didn't realise he wasn't going to graduate until his senior year, if you believe the article.

It might not be the school that's the problem.

    Agree with this.

    From the article
"She thought her oldest son was doing well because even though he failed most of his classes, he was being promoted. "

Why did not she take the responsibility to contact the school? Schools cannot (and should not) be the baby sitter for parents.

Sad story all around. It is probably that he has no good future. His mother is obviously not real aware of things.

And so the circle continues. 😢

Many of these children do not have a stable home and shuttled from relative to relative. They come to school hungry, tired and scared.

Yep, and as they grow up, they think it is normal and do not know any different. So they repeat the same mistakes, probably not even knowing they are mistakes until it is too late.

It’s a good piece except this what you get when you invade the Capitol building. There will be more penance before it’s all over.

    You got it wrong, Klaus.

The problem with machine learning in one tweet is that 280 characters is never enough to train an algorithm.

You cannot possibly be more wrong.

    Yup

If they did this after the Capitol riot, we would know who is the shooter.

I saw a guy interviewed the other day who believed that Joe Biden was secretly trying to winkle out enemies or pedophiles or something, and that once The Pope was captured, Donald Trump would be re-instated as President.

    You're a scary fucking bunch.

The Republicans are very big on limiting government when they're not in power.

The Democrats are very big on reducing tyranny when they're not in power.

If I was a politician, I'd aim to be in opposition the whole time. It's a fucking doddle.

May 20 1995, President Bill Clinton closed Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House to all vehicular traffic, a security response to the Oklahoma City bombing.

    That remains a mess, forever.

I want to be able to walk up to the Capitol and take a self-guided walking tour with nobody saying anything to me and no security checkpoints to walk through.

And on a Saturday morning I want to park right at the foot of the Capitol steps, without passing through any kind of security checkpoint.

That is how it was for most of the times I went there.

@lufins-dad I can say with 100% certainty that I have never seen this person play. Would have never even heard his name if not for TNCR.
