I thought Enterprise had started to hit its stride when it was cancelled. Probably the only one of the more recent versions I thought had promise.

    Private.

All my grandchildren except the youngest attend private schools, all Christian-based. It shows.

    I second this

That's not to say that private schools don't have their own issues. It wasn't perfect, but I have no regrets sending my kids to private school.

    @George-K

To be honest I never realised he was in his 70s. For some reason I thought he was much younger.

Turned out really well, but next time I will make a light tomato sauce instead of diced. Still, very close to what I was trying to do. Yum.

This is such a wonderful, refreshing thread.

Bless you and your froggos, @brenda !

ETA: Is their trilling seasonal? We had all kinds of froggos at the Cheddarshack, and every spring the racket was unbelievable.

Yes, the trilling increases during the spring, and this spring we have two that are big trillers, and one that I suspect is male, but has not trilled yet. The gurls are not vocal usually, but are capable of making an occasional chirp. Their job is to make the males follow them around, which happens more now. We'll see where that leads ...

Really, they are not much different from hoomans that way. 😆

Well - Russia seems to be a bit of a paper tiger. Who else is on the big boy list, China?

Curious who could use this against whom?

Much of America's Air-Land Battle Doctrine depends on air superiority, and works best with air supremacy. China supposedly has a fifth-generation and the Russians also have one. Neither has the capability of the F-35, but the F-35 does not do well at supersonic speeds, and the Navy needs buster capability for CAP and its backup.

Another problem with the F-35, is the combat load. It is supposed to be a multirole aircraft, but it falls short in the attack role. That's why the Navy has looked at an attack version of the F-15.

For air superiority, you have to be ahead of the technological curve.

Somewhat "interesting" is that through the 1960's and into the 70's, the standard of living in DPRK was actually higher than that of the ROK.

Without nukes, Russia would really be a laughing-stock militarily.

They've got some decent stuff, if they could just maintain it and train effectively.

My experience in their oil patch told me long ago that equipment maintenance only occurs after catastrophic failure followed by a period of prolonged idleness during which time anything on it that is salvageable is salvaged for personal gain.

Chernobyl I guess could be considered catastrophic failure
