As much as I dislike abortion, I am opposed to the Texas law. It's a horrible precedent and akin to 'Nice little career you have there. Shame if something should happen to it'. It's not the business of a state legislature to set up civil suits to enforce a societal goal.

Do not like. It may be more effective, but at what cost? Thereā€™s no real end to how technology can be used to enforce and detect human behavior. I have long feared a world where choices are dictated by the surety of detection.

They're probably trying to fix them with tools left behind by the Soviets, which would have completely incompatible thread-types.

Do you think instead of Allen wrenches and Phillips head screwdrivers? They have Vlad wrenches and Sergey head screwdrivers?

    Yes. Yes, I think that.

They had two molecules wash out but with successively better results. Theyā€™re probably 2 years away from clinical trials in their 3rd attempt.

It took them probably 10 years to come up with Trikafta for CF. Though they had successful intermediate products.

How did you find your house?

For that matter, how did you weather the Cape during the storm?

I havenā€™t seen it yet though my neighbor says itā€™s good. Cape was fine, here at least.

    Going home tomorrow

Animals have very accurate senses of time.

And very accurate senses of routine.

For our kids the routine is...

George showers and then feeds. When I go to shower, Boris is sitting at the door, waiting for me.

At about 2:30 PM, Boris hops on the chair by my desk, knowing it's time for a brushing and a treat.

At 7:30 PM, Maggie knows that it's time for her nightly treat.

NPR had a video about how dogs tell time by using scent. I imagine cats are similar.

Regarding Felix, I'd not be surprised if he hears the train approaching much earlier than a human could, and...
