Those widely acclaimed as virtuous, because they coincidentally do and say things that others will find virtuous, are sometimes shitbags, but this is, of course, extremely rare. It seems one has been spotted. Remember the CEO who cut his salary so that all his employees could make more? That was 6 years ago. Seems he's resigning now because of domestic abuse allegations. Also, his brother sued him, right about the time he reduced his salary, for overpaying himself and mismanaging the company. The courts denied that suit though.

Yeah, it's a fine line. I'm okay with some forms of virtue signaling. A shitload of the finest Western novels that illustrate our most important lessons were written by people who were a mess with their personal lives. But, see, they put it into the work and didn't much sermonize outside of that.
