A really good British crime drama covering solving cold cases. The stories are pretty harrowing, but the whole thing is well acted, with plenty of well known and high quality character actors taking part.

    I was only joking

We are enjoying Silo. Good production values and so far, an engaging storyline.

      Next month:

In anticipation of season 2, i binged (again) season 1. Much better on the 2nd watch. Having read the books, I'm REALLY looking forward to a binge of season two. Gonna hold off until all episodes are available.

It's neat when "sci-fi" doesn't involve spaceships, etc.

Side note: In one of the episodes (#4?), one of the police yell to a citizen by name: "Howey."

The Silo books were written by Hugh Howey.

Read the books - they're great.

I loved the books, too - I read the whole series very quickly

        @Doctor-Phibes yes!

I'd forgotten (heh) this series. Very well done. Understated, quiet and respectful.

Finally finished Yellowstone. I thought it was a good, if implausible, ending. About the best they could do without Costner. I liked that

There are at least two spin-offs in the works.

            6666 follows Jimmy
An unnamed series, in Wyoming, with Beth and Rip (remember she bought that ranch?)
And 1923 has another season to go - @jodi's husband was an extra in at least one scene

I'm hesitant to go down the Yellowstone universe rabbit hole. I think I might watch 1883 and 1923, but will probably stop after that. My brother in Dallas ran across a TV show being filmed, I think called "Madison", another spin off.

@Mik I liked Yellowstone, agree with your feeling. Just this morning I was thinking that the main thing I'll miss from the show are the cowboy/scenery moments with montage music. To me, at least, it was really peaceful and enjoyable to watch. The story itself was fun, with some specific episodes that were amazing, but the cowboy scenery is what will last with me.

It struck me as well. I have a very close friend who actually became a working cowboy in Montana after high school and a couple years of college. Spent a week with him up in summer cattle camp in the mountains. It was great.

How do you people find time to watch these-multi episode, multi-season shows? I can barely get through, "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" without skipping to just the good parts.

Quit working. You'll be amazed how much time you have. For a while, anyway. Then everything you do regularly will take three times as long.

Coffee and morning reading, puzzles, etc. is three hours. I used to go to the gym, get a workout in in 30 minutes. Now it's 90 to 120 minutes, but I do a LOT more exercises.

Renato practicing some Ravel on my piano.

More than likely the most complex piece ever played on my piano.

Those are the same curtains that have hung on that window since long before we even moved in here 27 years ago. My best guess is 70s or 80s vintage. 🤣

                                  Started it today.

Very, very, Taylor Sheridan - that's not a bad thing.

Not quite as soapy as Yellowstone, but there's definitely some soap in there.

If for no other reason than Jon Hamm...there's Billy Bob Thornton who is just fantastic. Probably as good as he was in Goliath.

Also more T & A than Yellowstone, so that might be a good thing.

Just a couple of episodes in, but very binge-worthy.

Cunk on Life - The movie that follows the series on Netflix.

If you liked the series, this is more of the same.

It is stupid, but it is funny.

                                        Landman is pretty good.

Cool, I plan to watch that eventually.

Right now I'm watching two shows that were very popular a couple years ago but I never watched them at the time (very normal for me... LOL). I'll mention the show titles when I'm done with the first seasons, since I'm highly sensitive to spoilers, even accidental hints.

The old folks home thing in Landman is brilliant. Hilarious.
