What are you watching now?

I was watching the movie Pandorum. My space isn't conducive to movies on the computer under less than ideal filming conditions, like good daylight. The movie looked pretty good, but after three or four dun-dun-dun-dunnn type plot developments that I couldn't near I was left with no clue to what was going on, so I clicked out.
Based on what I understood, I recommend it -- especially for this crew.

Yeah, I've seen Iron Man.
Looking forward to Hijack with Idris Elba. 6-part limited series.
Hijack? On what channel. I’d watch him eat soup. So compelling onscreen.

Apple TV+.
First 3 episodes have posted, the rest (7 I believe) every week after this.
It adopt's the "24" approach - events transpire in "real time." So, 7 hours of story plays out over 7 hours of TV. I'm going to wait for all 7 to be available and then binge away.

Just started The Witcher, Season 3.
MOTS. My wife likes it, for some inexplicable reason probably related to large sweaty men wielding swords and looking thoughtful. Hopefully that brunette bird will get her kit off at some point.

I'll say. (Eyebrow wiggle.)

The Bear season 2. Pretty good, great music in soundtrack.

I challenge you to enjoy Beast. I suffered through it recently.

Oh, I saw some of it. Seemed quite contrived.

No, Beast.
We are 80% thru S2 of The Bear. Excellent. On Hulu.

Started it based on your recco.
Once you get the "vibe" of the show, you realize how really good it is. I have a few eps of season 1 to go. Probably binge it this weekend.
Also, it's one of the most "Chicago" shows I've seen.
I grew up in a heavily Italian suburb, and the dialog is SO spot-on. The banter, the ball-busting, all that stuff. Just perfect.

S2 is even better. Real character development.

Getting ready to start Lincoln Lawyer S2.

I saw a movie, a western romance, that had every cliche in the book in it. There was the Wounded Gunslinger who comes out of nowhere and collapses in the yard of the Virtuous Amish Widow -- who Raised Sheep in Beef Country. There was the Boring Stiff-Necked Guy Next Door who kept bugging the widow to marry him and she was like yech. And so on down the line. Once a passel of horsemen came galloping into the yard, raising dust and scaring the sheep and I was like, It's the Beef Guys, come to intimidate the widow! I know it! And it was! The gunslinger was still too sick abed to do much but he straggles to the door and waves his gun around and they run away. The widow thanks him and they Kiss Sweetly. This movie was great! I loved it!

What an amazing show.
I get a little tired of the directors' decision to use extreme closeups, but the acting is so freaking good. Some of the plot points might be a bit contrived, but it's SO binge-able - especially at 30 minutes an episode ("Hey, just one more!")

I just watched Romeo Is Bleeding. I don't know what to make of it. I'd have called it noir but Rotton Tomatoes sort of called it fake noir or noir lite, so I don't know.
The primary thing I want to leave with you is that if you like jazz (or blues, I'm not sure which) trumpet, you should watch it for the soundtrack. Gary Oldman delivered his usual mindblower performance, and Lena Olin was so scary that I'll never be able to watch her again without hiding in the closet. Otherwise, I was confused a lot. I assumed it was because of my speakers, but RT called the plot confusing as well, so I don't know.
You can watch it for free at https://tubitv.com/movies/100002770/romeo-is-bleeding
