I love cop shows
-
I'm addicted to good cop shows. There are so many out there which have sucked time from my life. I think I got hooked with "Foyle's War" which introduced me into the genre.
Shows I've enjoyed:
1) The Shield
2) Foyle's War
3) Line of Duty
4) DCI Banks
5) Morse
6) Lewis
7) Unforgotten
8 ) The Sinner
9) Longmire
10) Justified
11) Bosch
12) GoliathI'm sure there are others I've not included.
There are others I've watched that I can't remember at the moment. So many people rave about The Wire, but I just couldn't, after two tries, get into it. Perhaps I should give it another shot.
I've tried Endeavour, but it's just too obscure for me as it progresses. The slow introduction, which introduces so many people - one of which might be the bad guy - is baffling. As I watch, I find myself thinking, "Wait, did I see that guy?"
Are there some that I'm missing?

A really good one from the end of the last century is Prime Suspect, with Helen Mirren. Not sure what it's streaming on - it was on Prime for a while, but was taken off year ago or so.

@doctor-phibes thanks!
I watched the first one yesterday and was a bit put off by the emphasis on Tenisonās position and angst as a woman. That was put on the back burner in the second episode.
Iām enjoying so far.
Hulu has it now.

Another British one Mrs. Phibes and I enjoyed was River, which is on Netflix - it's slightly odd, in that one of the characters is dead, and is basically a figment of the main character's imagination.
I know, it sounds like Randall and Hopkirk (deceased), but it really isn't - it's very good.

A different approach...How about something to listen to while walking?
Johnny Dollar is an investigator for different insurance companies. The premise of the show uses his expense account to narrate the plot.

Jesse Stone, man. The books are just fun, and the movies are great, too. They're shot in a Hallmark movie kinda way but the stories are well-done.
Bonus: a dog is a central character.

I could never buy Selleck as Jesse, though. He was just too . . . I dunno, Selleck.
It was like trying to buy Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra. Her Elizabeth Taylor-ness was too intrusive.

I thought he did an excellent job as Jesse. Magnum P.I. the show ain't, in every way.

Well, your opinion is stupid.

Haven't yet found a really good Spencer, though...
