Funny I don't remember any other VEEP doing stuff like this. I'll be happy to be corrected if my memory if faulty.

You don't think Dick Cheney made calls to world leaders?

      You were warned.

I don't know. I just don't remember, as I said, it being reported.

If Bush/Cheney didn't play good cop/bad cop with any world leaders, I'm not a proper doctor.

I seem to recall, Dick Cheney taking over and managing the Republic of Georgia file when that nutcase Saakashvili decided he wanted join NATO and provoke armed conflict with Moscow. Pushed Bush and Sect'y of State aside and ran his own show there until all came tumbling down. Rather badly if recall correctly.

I have little doubt that Cheney excerted a LOT of influence over foreign policy with Bush 43's administration.

I just think it was mostly behind the scenes, despite rumors.

This strikes me as a bit different, with the Vice President (who won zero primaries, I might add) directly interacting with foreign leaders.

Did Cheney, Biden, or other VEEPs do that?

              I don't know.

Was Vice President Pence more involved as a vice president compared to history or less so?

Just curious what you guys think.

You guys are essentially complaining because Darth Vader is doing stuff rather than Palpatine. Or possibly Jar Jar Binks in the case of Biden and Bush II.

Everytime a GOP-leaning poster questions why VP Harris does something instead of President Biden doing it himself, it always come down to do this: accusing Biden of suffering from mental decline to the point of being unable to do the job of a President.

                                That is the question, yes.

I have always been for greater utilization of the VP position. It makes for a VP better qualified to step in. There is a case to be made here that is exactly what is going on.
