        Looking at these things, it occurs that one of the two of us are aliens on this planet... No way did humanity and Cicadas develop on the same planet...

            In the early 1990s, we had a major brood here in the Chicago area. We had a party for the operating room staff at our home. Actually, it was more of a daytime picnic.

            One of the surgeons was frying cicadas in our kitchen.

            No, I didn’t partake.

                    An unexpected result of the little beasts is the birds have abandoned our feeders. We asked our resident expert who told us they are feasting on the cicadas.

                    It kind of pisses me off that they prefer the bugs to our offerings.
