I don't particularly like monologues, and I don't like Tucker Carlson.

"Both sides are equal and opposite garbage" would be an interesting perspective if I couldn't name five other posters on this board alone who think that way. It's not a point, it's a punt. And definitely not a thoughtful one.
Anyway, if Carlson is posted about here again, I'll try to remember to ping you so you have an opportunity to explain why he's talking bollocks. It's too bad you haven't taken any such opportunity the previous 20 times he's been posted about here.

My personal opinion is that anyone who uses the acronym MSM for mainstream media is so far buried in his/her/them perspective that it’s almost impossible to have a clear conversation.

I'm going to post Charlie Parker videos from YouTube every time you do that. Because Charlie Parker actually was a genius. I am totally uninterested in whether you want to listen to him or not, but I'm going to post them, because he's fucking awesome.
He also managed to wear a bow-tie without looking like a complete cunt.

All lifetime left-leaning folks are hesitant to admit to an overall political bent to our cultural messaging. I've generalized it to 'pop culture' rather than 'MSM', because 'pop culture' gets more to the heart of the issue.

Fine by me, I'd love to learn more about jazz. I started watching a Miles Davis documentary a while ago, but it didn't grab me.

If you like listening to talking heads on TV who reinforce and confirm what you already believe, I'm sure Tucker's great. I've never understood the appeal of these shows, left or right.
I can't even watch the evening entertainment shows any more over here. You guys are fucking obsessed with politics. It's all they talk about. They even bring over British "comedians" to go on about it now, presumably with the idea that James Corden and John Oliver sound more sophisticated. A Brummie!

That's all well and good, but some of us in this thread have expressed specific opinions about specific people, about whom we know something. It is actually possible to have a political opinion that sides one way or another without having succumbed to confirmation bias, or some other logical fallacy du jour. That's why it helps to engage people on specifics.

Yes, he has writers. He's also written books himself, and I've heard him in a long form interview format. I consider him an interesting and thoughtful guy who makes a lot of points that resonate with me.

I think that is true of politicians, for example our current VP, future POTUS.
But I think to climb to the top of that industry takes some intelligence.
Of course there are exceptions. One that comes to mind is the lady who sat next to Wolf and rolled her eyes and giggled every time anyone said "Sarah Palin".
Somehow the director caught this discrete move on camera with a closeup every time.
