Hey Rach Fans

One of the most superbly voiced interpretations I've ever heard of the Ebm etude (39/5).
Starts at 40:00

BTW during bath time (for my toddler, not me) I always stream Pandora's Rachmaninoff channel.
Really? You Rach!

Yup! It's cute, my daughter often asks for "piano" (although sometimes she thinks any music is piano). She also just this week has started to ask to watch "ball!" with me (which means we watch golf together, and she claps everytime someone takes a shot). I love it.
Except when she watched the Ryder Cup replay with me and would cheer for those euro bastards, too.

@jon-nyc Nicely played, but a little too subdued. My benchmarks are Ashkenazy, Lugansky, and more recently Steven Osborne. I also have an old Jean-Phillipe Collard box set which include some of the Etudes. I really like it. I heard him once in a recital. I found out afterwards he played with the flu. It showed me how the pros can play really well even when feeling like crap.

Just curious Jon, how did you upload the CD cover with the recording?
I didn’t, I just posted the YouTube link.

I guess I see what you mean ... there are places where I wish there were more tension; still, I very much enjoyed listening to the recording. Thanks for posting the link, @jon-nyc .

I understand the subdued comment but her ability to bring out the main voice is fantastic. It so often gets lost in the harmonies.
She has an hour long masterclass on the Etudes on YouTube.
