And dining indoors was more deadly.
Not sure if I am reading the table correctly in the decline of deaths with masks is 2% and increase in deaths with indoor dining is 3%?

And even more CDC data is out
Fascinating. I wonder what the pathophysiology of that is.

40% of Americans are obese, 50% of the hospitalized were.
71% of Americans are overweight, 78% of people hospitalized were.
Why would anybody be surprised by these statistics?

@doctor-phibes well, when you put it like that....

My school started back in session at the very end of January--just in time for a nasty weather change. We keep the windows open all day, regardless of the weather, and although we try to eat outside whenever possible, there have been some days that were just too cold (or the ground had snow/ice).
So, on some days we eat indoors, 10 kids and 1 teacher to a room. Masks off.
It´s supposed to be silent lunch but, well, they are goofy middle schoolers who haven´t been able to chat with their peers for a year.
Guess who´s glad to be vaccinated

Also, I would assume that obesity and weight problems become more prevalent once people get older, so the percentage of older people who are overweight will be higher than these numbers. It's just possible that age is the factor, not obesity.

Not my experience.
Obesity seems to be pretty age-agnostic:

Obesity seems to be pretty age-agnostic:OK, fair enough. So obesity is a factor, but possibly it's not as important as it might first appear. Since there is going to be a correlation between overall health and weight, could it just be that those who are less healthy are more likely to become seriously ill?

Yeah, I'll buy that.

@Doctor-Phibes beat me to the stats, 78% hospitalization is only slightly higher than the whole.
However, as @George-K has pointed out in the past, this is a vascular disease which would be the hardest on overweight people with vascular issues and diabetics. That’s what we saw. There are aberrations, but that’s to be expected.
