Hey whiskey drinkers

So, I’m usually a beer guy. But lately have been trying out some whiskey (scotch, bourbon, etc). In general, the first sip usually burns a bit and isn’t enjoyable, but the next 2-n sips go down easy.
Anyone else have this “first sip” experience that’s not enjoyable but the rest of the drink is fine?

Honestly it depends on my mood or something. I don't drink whiskey that often but sometimes it goes down like elixir from the fountain of youth and sometimes I get a strong negative reaction. From the same bottle a week apart say.

Yes, I had this happen in a previous life.
When I was a girl.

Just wait until you try some of George’s cheap scotch, the first sip of Grant’s has an aftertaste that reminds me of lighter fluid after that it is ok.
I have 6 or 7 whisky bottles open now. But I only have 2 or 3 shots per week, just enough to get the medical benefits.

I admit, I set myself up to get pwn3d.
Also, let the record short Phibes used to be a girl. Explains a lot.
Pronouns: Her, she, brit

At least I know how to spell whisky.

Heh, the warmth is a big part of what I like in a whiskey. It’s the biggest reason why I prefer Monongahela Rye and Dad’s Hat in particular. The heat doesn’t go away on the second or even third sips.
