Well meaning people will try and justify the idiots on their team. I suspect Tucker will express some sympathy for the passion that the people yesterday expressed even as he condemns their methods. It is a way of blaming the "other side." BLM apologists do the same. There may be justification for frustration or protest - but not for violence and disregard of personal property. I was supremely furious at what the looters/riorters did last summer - and frankly would not have objected a heavier hand in putting it down. Same thing for yesterday's clowns.

Except if the behavior is tolerated it is tolerated. The 10’s of billions of dollars of damage this year got a giant shrug.
You reap what you sow. If that’s part of whataboutism it becomes truly meaningless.

Exactly. It was condoned, ignored, and even praised.
Even the Vice-President Elect said they should continue.
In what universe can you countenance that?

I just pointed out that the tweeter phrasing it this way is like the Soviets trying to rephrase our UN resolutions to a call for ‘restraint on all sides’. It’s not that it’s false, it just is deliberately dilutive.

One thing I’ve noticed through this whole post-election episode is the the right is quite good at finding a sufficiently low-resolution framing that allows them an equivalence claim.
