I finally got around to looking at cnn
Boy do they love this
They are reporting 4 deaths in yesterday's deadly riot
Including
"One adult female and two adult males appear to have suffered from separate medical emergencies, which resulted in their deaths. Any loss of life in the District is tragic and our thoughts are with anyone impacted by their loss," Contee said at a news conference Wednesday night.

Bullshit.
You're just wrong Jolly.
Did I want Trump to get his cummupance? Of course. Would I be happy to see him get expunged by his own cabinet? Yes. Or as you might put it, hell to the yes.
But this was an historic stain on the republic. Yesterday I was just angry and sad.

Yeah, I posted about the 4 deaths yesterday. Or maybe this morning early.
I was about to post again, wondering what the deal was with 3 medical deaths. Seems highly unusual.
Yeah all I heard was 4 deaths and I was horrified and then this morning the caveat came in and I said what the fuck was I played? Yeah 1 is 1 too many but the context for the 4 was played to the hilt. Trust in news down again just as I was willing to listen.

It sounds to me like you really despise us, Jolly.
Sometimes, I do. Sometimes, I'm ashamed of some of you.
It started with the false Russia dossier and not being up in rhetorical arms about violating the rule of law, our Justice system and perverting the courts for political gain. No matter one's politics, country should come first.
You do what is good for the country. You do what is good for the Constitution.
It doesn't matter who is in the Whitehouse or how much you hate them. Always remember, occupants change, but the basic principles of law and rights remain.
Politics ain't beanbag, but in order for this system of government to function, things have to be as fair and open as possible. The media needs to fulfill its responsibilities as a fair and unbiased reporter of information. National disagreements have to be hammered out on the floors of the Congress or adjudicated in the courts. People need to have faith in the voting system and that simply can't happen with massive mail-in voting.
And some people have to understand that everybody on the other side of the political aisle is not an idiot.

I still believe there are enough sane people in Congress, in the courts, and in the armed forces, to prevent Trump from actually creating a bigger riot or bigger insurrection without having to formally remove Trump from office between now and Biden getting sworn in.
Ax, I'd be curious as to your take on how likely this is.
My days of saying, "Oh, even Trump wouldn't go that far" are far behind me. I kind of don't think he would, but he's not the most flexible knife in the drawer. He has one tactic for achieving his aims; that's to lower his horns and keep on charging.

There was no glee from me, and I sure as hell wasn't happy to see people die, whatever you might choose to imply about me, Jolly.
Same. I feel sadness mainly.
Very much ditto.

The arrests
Four people are dead, 52 are arrested and 14 DC Police officers have been injured
Four of those arrested were charged with carrying a pistol without a license, possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device, possession of unregistered ammunition, according to DC Police. 47 were arrested because of disobeying the curfew put in place by DC's Mayor Bowser from 6 p.m. on Wednesday until 6 a.m. on Thursday. One person was arrested for possession of a prohibited weapon, which earlier Wednesday was described by DC Police as "illegal fireworks."
Of the 52 people arrested by DC Police, 26 of them were arrested at the US Capitol Building.

It just seems like too many random heart attacks for a crowd that size, no?
I wonder if there were folks with underlying breathing issues caught in a stampede or compressed in a crowd or something.
I found 3 medical emergency deaths highly unusual too. So the stampede thought makes a ton of sense.

I'm not implying. I'm painting you all with a nice four-inch paintbrush. I can positively hear the chuckles from some of you, as you sit in self-righteous glory, seeing that filth get what they deserve. If it's a horrible story and Trump or his supporters are involved, it is time for some to rejoice. To wallow in the sheer joy of victory. Let the MAGATs hit the floor!
I see this differently. I think it's a very sad day when citizens are so riled up or aggrieved, they storm the Capitol. I have no problem defending the building or the people inside with deadly force. I think that we have not been as aggressive as needed in more than one Washington incident. Same opinion for other cities, such as Portland.
I don't think it's a day to dance around the living room bunker, laughing about a Trump political defeat. I think it's a day to ask one's self, How did we get here?. Sure, there are always nuts on both sides, but Trump exists for a reason and so do the millions of votes that were cast for him. There is also a reason why millions think this last Presidential election was rigged.
Some of you might reflect on how the people in those overwhelmingly red counties feel, and why they voted as they did. But I doubt that most of you will. You're too busy scoring political points and enjoying yourselves...
+1
Make that 2.

Nope. THat's not different at all. This part anyway. The difference is, along with the sadness, we have anger directed at the man who did the riling and the enablers that knew better.
Bullshit.
Post after joyous post confirms your absolute orgasmic satisfaction at another Trump loss. It doesn't matter why it happened. It doesn't matter who got hurt, who was killed, why people fought down the halls of the Capitol.
It's all about winning. It's all about power. It's all about Trump or his supporters losing. It's all about MAGAT vermin hitting the floor, isn't it? They got what they deserved, didn't they? After all, people who supported or voted for Trump are idiots. Fools. Imbeciles, drooling as they zombie-shuffle to the voting booth.
Enjoy. Wallow in the shattered glass. Blow up the scenes of the Capitol storming and use them for wall decor. Hell, take the sound recording of the agent's weapon, as he kills a woman in the hallway and use it for the ringtone on your phone.
Enjoy. Enjoy the victory.
But while you're patting yourself on the back after your glorious triumph, do a little introspection. Learn that your vicious hate for Trump or anything associated with him is not good for your soul. Hate eats at a man. It makes him less than what he could be...
Unfair criticism, imo. Trump has touched on legitimate qualms, plus in a two party system he's the only choice for right-of-center policy.
So, it's reasonable to choose him over the alternative. I think it's unreasonable to not criticize him on his numerous and massive failures as a leader.

I wasn't the one chanting 'Traitor', and 'Where the fuck are they? yesterday in Washington.
I haven't told anybody here at TNCR to go fuck themselves, or attacked them for being stupid, or evil.
And yet I'm the hater.
It strikes me that I'm not the only person here who needs to take a long, hard look in the fucking mirror.

Indeed.
