Nothing to see here. We all know how excitable he is.
“Efforts to involve the US armed forces in resolving election disputes would take us into dangerous, unlawful and unconstitutional territory,” they warned. “Civilian and military officials who direct or carry out such measures would be accountable, including potentially facing criminal penalties, for the grave consequences of their actions on our republic.”
If it happened. Parade of horribles. Are you saying the military could get involved. Say it I dare you.

I don't think you need to worry that Trump will try to use the military to do anything any more than when you thought he was a Russian spy.
What you need to worry about is the coming suspension of our 1st and 2nd amendment rights, packing the supreme court's, and adding states so the democrats can establish one party rule. These are things the democrats have openly stated they intend to do, and that should scare you a he'll of a lot more than some wild eyed made up story about military take overs.

What I think is that your view that it’s all nothingburgers unless a coup actually occurs is simply your way of coping for having voted for this.
Voted for what? Also if anyone wakes up in the military and does anything different it would be more than a nothing burger. As far as I can tell they are all snuggled in bed and turning over for another hour’s sleep. Show me where they even go confirm where their gun is.. Jesus.

Donald Rumsfeld was Defense Secretary for the first time when you and I were in grade school, and again 2 decades later. Cheney was WH Chief of staff in the 70s, was a member of the house armed services committee for over a decade before becoming Sec Def himself, and then 8 years as a very hands on VP. These guys have pretty deep ties in the military establishment.
The fact that they think this is necessary is per se high in information content.

Presidents, like all politicians, swear an oath to defend the Constitution against both foreign and domestic enemies. The democrat party IS a domestic enemy and a threat to our Constitution. So much so, there should be an investigation of the democrat party to see if they have any ties to America.
We are in a cold civil war at the moment. Whether you realize that or not, we are in a cold war. And I assure you it won't take much for that cold civil war to turn hot. Some of us - in fact, half of this nation, sees further down the road than your TDS allows you to see. So if it takes military intervention to avoid a hot civil war, so be it.

So you're willing to end the republic if it means keeping Trump in power.
Tell me again who the traitors are?
Again, you frame it completely backwards to reality. It has nothing at all to do with keeping Trump in office. It has to do with keeping the radical, enemy of the Constitution democrat party from setting up one party rule.

So put a percentage to it. What is the chance that a military coup will actually occur? "Not impossible" is not a valid answer.

Wow.
And of all people, this coming from Dick Cheney.
I'm glad the American separation of power seems to still work well. Otherwise I would be really worried.
I'm usually not a fan of prosecuting former heads of state (always has a flavor of victor's justice), and I don't usually use the term "traitor", but if there's ever been a crystal-clear application of the term, this is it.

I've never given any credence whatsoever to a military coup led by Trump. We all know it won't happen, but maybe Cheney just wants to put the minds of TDS sufferers at ease. Like placating children.
He plays chess with more than 2 Ds also!!!
Honestly I thought the story was going to be "what does it matter what a retired politician said to whom."

So we know now that a coup is not what the letter addresses but something else and I very seriously doubt it benefits democrats.
What does it address?

You have to be very, very careful around here with stating historical facts. You could be accused of coming across as sounding smart. You never know for sure but at least one poster may be thus triggered and take offence.

Is what it addresses an unknown unknown, by any chance?
